Accordingly, at 1:10 a.m. on October 13, Cat Hai Border Guard Station received a report of a maritime accident between a fishing boat and a cargo vehicle in the Cai Trap canal area, Cat Hai, Hai Phong City, causing the fishing boat to sink, threatening the lives of the crew. Immediately after receiving the report, Cat Hai Border Guard Station reported to the Hai Phong City Border Guard Command, then mobilized 2 boats with 7 officers and soldiers, led by Lieutenant Colonel Trinh Dinh Luong, Deputy Chief of Operations, to the area of the accident to search and rescue.

At 1:40 a.m., the search and rescue team reached the location of the fishing boat QN 3324 TS. At the scene, the fishing boat QN 3324 TS had completely sunk, with 3 crew members clinging to some floating equipment on the water surface. The search team quickly approached and brought the 3 victims onto the boat to ensure safety, while also checking the health and performing first aid on the injured crew members. Currently, the health of the crew members has basically stabilized.
After completing the rescue work, Cat Hai Border Guard Station continued to send 1 boat and 5 officers to stay at the scene to coordinate with other forces to determine the location, divide the flow, mark and warn maritime traffic, ensuring safety of waterway traffic.
