The two sides also regularly exchange information and situations related to the border; coordinate propaganda for border residents to fully understand and strictly comply with the contents of the Agreement on border management regulations and land border gates between the two countries; support and actively help each other in coordinating the fight against all types of crimes, handing over and returning citizens, conducting search and rescue, and preventing epidemics, etc.
The two sides also periodically organize bilateral patrols, review coordination in border management, protection, and security and order maintenance in border areas. At the same time, they propose contents of coordination in performing tasks in the coming time for better efficiency, contributing to building a peaceful , friendly, cooperative and developed Vietnam-Laos border.
Previously, on May 26, at Pa Thom village, Pa Thom commune, Dien Bien district (Dien Bien province), a twinning ceremony took place between border posts: Tay Trang, Thanh Luong, Pa Thom international border gates (Border Guard of Dien Bien province, Vietnam) and Border Guard Company 119 (Military Command of Phongsaly province, Laos).
According to the People's Army newspaper, the parties have signed a twinning agreement that includes the following contents: regular exchange of information, situation on management and protection of border lines, border markers, situation in border areas; information related to illegal border crossings, illegal entry and exit, free migration and other criminal activities across the border. Strengthening exchanges and professional exchanges on border work, cooperation in fighting and preventing all types of crimes.
