Officers and soldiers of My Thanh Tay Border Guard Station help people reinforce the dike, protecting more than 2 hectares of lemon trees from the risk of flooding.

On the morning of October 29, receiving information from the People's Committee of Dong Thanh commune, Tay Ninh province and local people about the risk of flood water overflowing into the lemon field of Mr. Tran Van Quyen (born in 1955, residing in Giong Luc hamlet, Dong Thanh commune) with an area of over 2 hectares, My Thanh Tay Border Guard Station (Tay Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command) promptly mobilized forces to the scene, coordinated with people to build and reinforce the dike to protect the production area.

With a spirit of urgency and responsibility, officers, soldiers and forces stationed in the area and people actively built dikes and reinforced embankments more than 400m long, ensuring safety for the entire crop area of households.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Nam - Political Commissar of My Thanh Tay Border Guard Station, said: "Immediately after receiving the information, we deployed forces to the scene to support the people. Helping people respond to natural disasters is not only a duty, but also a sentiment and responsibility of Border Guard soldiers towards the people in the border area."

Thanks to timely coordination, the dike section was safely reinforced, effectively preventing the risk of flood water overflowing into the production area.

Officers and soldiers of My Thanh Tay Border Guard Station promptly helped people reinforce the dike.

Previously, on October 27, My Thanh Tay Border Guard Station coordinated with other forces to help Mr. Cao Hoang Son's family with about 6,000 square meters of land to grow 450 red-fleshed jackfruit trees and 500 kumquat trees ready for harvest, at risk of being flooded and the dike broken.

Accordingly, officers and soldiers of My Thanh Tay Border Guard Station, the Commune Military Command and local people supported the reinforcement with concrete stakes, trees, B40 nets and sacks of soil, 1m wide and 80cm high above the current water surface.

Armed forces support people against floods

The image of soldiers in green uniforms wading through mud and building soil with people in the floodwaters once again clearly depicts the close relationship between the army and the people, demonstrating the spirit of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" at the "fence" of the Fatherland, always ready to accompany the people in all circumstances./.
