Provincial leaders work with BAF Vietnam Agricultural Joint Stock Company

On the morning of October 29, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut and Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Thanh chaired a meeting and worked with BAF Vietnam Agriculture Joint Stock Company to discuss the situation of production and business activities and propose orientations for the development of high-tech livestock farming in Tay Ninh province.

At the meeting, representatives of BAF Vietnam Agricultural Joint Stock Company reported an overview of production and business activities, introduced high-tech livestock projects being implemented in Tay Ninh province and proposed a number of contents to expand investment and improve the efficiency of the high-tech agricultural production chain.

Currently, BAF Vietnam Agricultural Joint Stock Company invests and operates many large-scale pig farming projects in communes in the province, of which the typical project is the Hai Dang High-Tech Pig Farm project in Tan Hoa commune with a scale of 5,000 sows and 60,000 pigs, total area of 50 hectares; and many farms following the closed cold farm model such as Tan Chau, Tam Hung, Phuoc Vinh, Thanh Binh, Tan Thanh, Tan Hoi, Tan Dong, with a scale of 5,000 to 60,000 pigs per farm.

Notably, the high-rise pig farming project with air filtration and deodorization technology combined with a feed factory, slaughterhouse and pork food processing plant located in Tan Hoa commune, Tay Ninh province, has a total estimated investment of more than 12,323 billion VND. The project has a scale of 64,000 sows and 800,000 pigs, combined with a feed factory of 600,000 tons/year, a slaughterhouse of 2 million pigs/year and a food processing factory of 55,000 tons/year.

According to the enterprise, the high-rise pig farming model applies advanced technology including 4-layer air filtration, 2-layer deodorization, 100% recirculating wastewater treatment, microclimate management system and pig health diagnosis using artificial intelligence (AI). This solution helps reduce gas emissions by more than 80%, save 27% of labor costs, reduce production costs by 135,000 VND per pig, and increase land use efficiency by more than 5 times compared to the traditional model.

BAF Vietnam representative proposed that the province support in adjusting the livestock farming planning, creating favorable conditions for land fund, electricity, water and technical infrastructure, and at the same time recommend the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to consider updating the design standards for high-rise livestock farms to ensure the legal basis for the synchronous implementation of this model in Tay Ninh.

In addition, the enterprise wishes to cooperate with the province in building disease-free livestock farming areas and developing a clean and sustainable pork product value chain.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut highly appreciated the investment orientation of BAF Vietnam Agriculture Joint Stock Company, which is in line with the policy of developing high-tech, environmentally friendly agriculture of Tay Ninh province. He affirmed that the province will create favorable conditions for enterprises within the legal framework, and at the same time assign relevant departments and branches to coordinate in guiding and removing difficulties in the process of project implementation.

Provincial leaders emphasized that the development of high-tech livestock farming in a closed chain not only contributes to increasing the value of agricultural production, but also creates stable jobs, promotes economic growth and protects the ecological environment, towards the goal of sustainable and modern agricultural development of Tay Ninh province.

Speaking at the working session, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Thanh emphasized that the province encourages the development of high-tech, environmentally friendly livestock models, linked with farmers and value chain linkages, and at the same time requested businesses to closely coordinate with localities, ensuring biosafety and harmonious interests between parties.

The cooperation and investment of BAF Vietnam Agriculture Joint Stock Company in Tay Ninh province is expected to contribute to promoting the transformation of the province's agricultural economic structure, forming high-tech, environmentally friendly livestock farming areas, creating jobs, increasing income for people, towards the goal of developing modern, sustainable and integrated agriculture.
