From cleaning the grounds and setting up tents to decorating the space and preparing offerings, every task was carried out urgently, demonstrating the people's sincere respect and the spirit of "remembering the source when drinking water" towards the national hero who sacrificed himself for the country.
Although they came from many different provinces and cities, they all shared a common sentiment towards Vam Nhut Tao. Many delegations arrived early, contributing to the local preparations for the solemn and thoughtful commemoration ceremony.
From the 7th day of the 9th lunar month, people decorate and clean the Vam Nhut Tao historical site.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Gieng (Long Phu Thuan commune, Dong Thap province) said that this year, his team is in charge of camp number 4. From the 7th day of the 9th lunar month, everyone has been present to prepare for the activities during the main festival days of the 10th, 11th, and 12th days of the 9th lunar month.
“We cook vegetarian meals, make Vietnamese pancakes, and prepare drinks to serve people near and far with sincere hearts. That is our way of remembering the national hero and showing the principle of 'remembering the one who planted the tree when you eat the fruit',” Mr. Gieng shared.
For the past 10 years, Mr. Gieng and the members of his team have become "family" to the commemoration of Nguyen Trung Truc's death anniversary. For them, contributing to the event is not only an honor but also an act of gratitude and preservation of the nation's fine traditions.

With the cooperation of the people, the Nhựt Tảo commune government is also urgently completing all preparations. From setting up tents, arranging food areas, cleaning the temple grounds to coordinating with sponsoring units, everything is being done meticulously.
Ho Quoc Khanh, Director of the Public Service Center of Nhut Tao Commune, shared: “The locality has promptly implemented a plan to meticulously prepare for this year's memorial ceremony. Currently, the tents serving the people and tourists are basically completed, and sponsoring delegations from An Giang have been present since the 7th to coordinate and ensure accommodation and logistics are fully provided, helping the memorial ceremony to take place solemnly and smoothly.”
Each person contributes in their own way, sharing a common heart as they commemorate the anniversary of the death of national hero Nguyen Trung Truc - the hero who "resolutely fought to drive out the invading enemy," so that the anniversary is not only a memorial ceremony, but also an opportunity to spread patriotism, unite the community, and cultivate traditional values for future generations.
