PV: Could you summarize the outstanding achievements in the work of the Farmers' Association and the farmers' movement in the province during the 2023-2025 period?

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Tung: During the 2023-2025 period, the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association led and directed the implementation, achieving and exceeding many annual emulation targets. The Association's organizations at all levels have been gradually consolidated and streamlined for greater efficiency. Inspection and supervision work has been strengthened, helping to promptly detect, correct shortcomings, and prevent negative practices in the Association's activities.

Breakthrough tasks such as innovating operational content, applying technology in association management, promoting the role of the Farmers' Support Fund, and entrustment work with banks have been implemented synchronously and are gradually yielding results.

The emulation movements launched by the Association are increasingly becoming more in-depth, contributing to the transformation of farmers' awareness of agricultural economics , circular economy, digital transformation, and production linkages. Support activities for members and farmers are maintained regularly, especially in the areas of: building economic models, transferring advanced technologies, vocational training, linking in agricultural product consumption, participating in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas...

PV: We understand that the movement for farmers to excel in production and business at all levels has truly become a part of daily life. Could you tell us about the effectiveness of this movement?

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Tung: The movement of farmers competing in excellent production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty is increasingly developing, becoming a focal point in the socio-economic life of rural areas. The movement is organized widely across all fields, and the number of member households and farmers participating in the movement is growing.

Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, and Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, Nguyen Thanh Tung (far right), visits and encourages farmers affected by floods.

Over the past three years, the province has seen more than 658,000 farmer households register and over 380,000 households recognized as outstanding farmers in production and business at various levels, achieving over 55% of the registered households and exceeding the target set by the Congress Resolution. This movement has led to the emergence of increasingly effective production and business models, generating incomes ranging from hundreds of millions to billions of dong per year.

Typical examples include Mr. Nguyen Van Tro (residing in Gia Loc ward) with his cut orchid farming model, earning over 500 million VND/year; Mr. Nguyen Van Sau (residing in Phuoc Chi commune) with his pineapple export and rice production model, earning over 2 billion VND annually; and Mr. Phan Van Tha (residing in Tan Bien commune) with his 160-hectare farm including key crops such as rubber, jackfruit, and pomelo, earning 6.5 billion VND/year, and providing support to 3 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers,…

Many households have successfully started businesses and become exemplary models and key players in rural economic development, such as Mr. Le Trung Hieu (residing in Duc Lap commune) with his innovative startup model combining civet farming, banana cultivation, fish farming for civets to eat and sell, and frog farming; Mr. Nguyen Tat Thanh (residing in Tan An ward) with his ornamental fish production and trading model; and Mr. Tran Cong Vinh (residing in Ben Cau commune) who creates unique handicrafts from gourds, which are loved by many people…

In addition, the province maintains 383 farmers' clubs for mutual assistance in wealth creation with nearly 7,200 members, contributing to promoting linkages, sharing experiences, and improving the efficiency of production and business. In reality, the movement of farmers competing in excellent production and business has gradually helped farmers become more united and cohesive, helping members and farmers reduce poverty, rise to legitimate wealth, promote the construction of sustainable production models, and contribute positively to the implementation of the socio-economic development plan.

PV: Besides the achievements, what difficulties and limitations does the farmers' movement and the Association's activities still face, Comrade?

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Tung: During the 2023-2025 period, in addition to the achievements, the propaganda work still lacks depth, and the understanding of the situation, thoughts, and difficulties of members in some areas has not been timely. The percentage of members participating in activities is low, the content of activities is slow to innovate, and the work of building the association's fund still faces many difficulties.

Rewarding individuals who have achieved outstanding results in implementing the resolution.

The movement and operational models are developing unevenly; some models lack sustainability and have not created widespread impact; the operating methods in some establishments have not kept pace with the requirements of innovation and current agricultural production practices…

PV: Based on the achievements and limitations of the past period, what goals and solutions does the Association have set for the new term?

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Tung: The goal for the 2025-2030 term is to build a clean, strong, and effective Provincial Farmers' Association; with a team of cadres possessing sufficient qualities, capabilities, prestige, and dedication to serving the people. This includes innovating the content and methods of operation, improving the effectiveness of propaganda, uniting and gathering the people; caring for their lives, enhancing their capacity for self-reliance, adapting to digital transformation and international integration.

Promoting the leading role of farmers in agricultural development, rural economy, building new rural areas and a civilized and happy society; boosting emulation movements, entrepreneurship, innovation, and production linkages along the value chain; and promoting the role of the Farmers' Association in building the Party, government, and the national unity bloc.

The movement of farmers competing to excel in production and business has had a positive impact on the socio-economic development of the province.

Regarding solutions, the Provincial Farmers' Association focuses on consolidating and streamlining its organizational structure to ensure efficient and effective operation; building a strong association in terms of politics , ideology, and organization. It continues to innovate the content and methods of its activities towards practicality, effectiveness, and closeness to the grassroots; promoting the proactive and creative role of the Standing Committee and leaders at all levels of the Association. It also promotes the application of information technology and digital transformation in the Association's work.

Continue to mobilize, guide, and support members and farmers in digital transformation in production, business, and daily life. Develop a movement of proactive, creative farmers who are at the forefront of economic development, building rural cultural life, green and sustainable production, creating a strong ripple effect, consolidating the spirit of solidarity, self-reliance, and the aspiration for development of farmers throughout the province.

Improving the quality of the farmers' emulation movement in excellent production and business, solidarity and mutual assistance for wealth creation and sustainable poverty reduction, encouraging members and farmers to link production along the value chain, applying advanced techniques and safe production. Focusing on consolidating and developing cooperatives, cooperative groups and professional associations, while supporting the improvement of management capacity, application of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in production and business...

PV: Thank you, comrade! ./.
