Domestic rice prices remain unchanged.
Today, December 15th, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region remained unchanged compared to the end of last week. Trading activity in many localities was sluggish, but prices remained stable.
According to updates from the An Giang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment and Vietnam Rice, the price of OM 5451 rice for export fluctuates around 8,150 - 8,300 VND/kg. The popular Soc Thom rice is priced at 7,500 - 7,600 VND/kg, IR 50404 at 7,550 - 7,650 VND/kg, and CL 555 is traded around 7,340 - 7,450 VND/kg. Some high-quality rice varieties such as Dai Thom 8 and OM 18 maintain their prices at 8,700 - 8,900 VND/kg and 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg respectively.
By-product prices remained stable, fluctuating between 7,400 and 10,000 VND/kg. OM 5451 broken rice traded around 7,400-7,500 VND/kg, while common rice bran was priced at 9,000-10,000 VND/kg. Finished IR 50404 rice maintained a price of 9,500-9,700 VND/kg, reflecting the stability of the processing stage.
At retail markets, rice prices remained relatively stable. Nang Nhen rice maintained its highest price at around 28,000 VND/kg. Common rice varieties ranged from 11,000 to 12,000 VND/kg, while fragrant rice varieties such as Huong Lai, Jasmine, Nang Hoa, and Japanese rice continued to maintain medium to high prices, suitable for year-end consumer demand.
The common price for fresh IR 50404 and OM 34 rice is 5,200 - 5,400 VND/kg. OM 5451 rice remains at 5,500 - 5,600 VND/kg. High-quality varieties such as Dai Thom 8 and OM 18 fluctuate between 6,400 - 6,600 VND/kg. In many localities, buying and selling transactions are slow, but prices are not being forced down.

Rice export prices remain stable.
On the international market, Vietnam's export rice prices remained stable compared to the end of the week. According to the Vietnam Food Association, 5% broken rice ranged from 420 to 440 USD/ton, Jasmine rice maintained a level of 447 to 451 USD/ton, while 100% broken rice was commonly priced at 314 to 318 USD/ton.
During the trading week from November 27th to December 4th, the average domestic rice price reached 5,804 VND/kg (fragrant rice at the field) and 5,314 VND/kg (regular rice). Grade 1 milled white rice was priced at 9,640 VND/kg.
In the past 11 months, Vietnam exported more than 7.53 million tons of rice, worth $3.85 billion. Compared to the same period last year, rice exports decreased by 10.9% in volume and 27.4% in value. The average export price of paddy rice in the first 11 months of 2025 is estimated at $512.1/ton, a decrease of 18.3% compared to the same period last year.
The total export surplus from rice exports by the end of November 2025 decreased sharply by 41%, reaching only $2.33 billion.
The Philippines remains Vietnam's largest rice market, accounting for 39.8% of the market share. Ghana and Ivory Coast are the next two largest markets, with market shares of 12.8% and 11.5% respectively.
However, the price of rice exported to the Philippines in the first 10 months of 2025 decreased sharply by 34.9% compared to the same period last year. Several other markets also recorded declines, such as Indonesia (down nearly 96.4%) and Malaysia (down 32.5%).
The decline in these markets was offset by significant increases in rice exports to Ghana (up 52.6%), China (up 165.1%), Bangladesh (up nearly 238.5 times), and Senegal (up approximately 73 times).
