I fully agree with the policy of "selectively attracting foreign investment projects, focusing on high-tech, low-emission industries" as stated in the Draft Political Report submitted to the 14th Party Congress.
In the context of a global shift towards a green and digital economy , prioritizing projects with technological value and environmental friendliness will help Vietnam achieve sustainable development, avoiding the risk of becoming a recipient of outdated or polluting technologies. Furthermore, increasing the attraction of indirect investment, especially from investment funds, will create conditions for a more transparent and professional domestic capital market, contributing to reduced reliance on loans and enhancing the financial capacity of Vietnamese businesses.
I believe specific policies are needed to promote connectivity between FDI and domestic businesses. The government should support the formation of interconnected industrial clusters and innovation centers, as well as mechanisms to encourage FDI enterprises to transfer technology, train human resources, and utilize products and services from domestic businesses.
Finally, it is crucial to focus on enhancing the technological absorption capacity of Vietnamese businesses through investment in research, education, and innovation. Only then will cooperation between the FDI sector and the domestic economy truly become a vital driving force for the industrialization and modernization of the country.
