Thanh Lan Border Guard Station successfully rescued 4 sailors in distress at sea

At 11:46 a.m. on June 9, Thanh Lan Border Guard Station, Co To Island District (Quang Ninh Province) received information that a fishing boat about 1 nautical mile from the station was in distress at sea, with 4 people on board.

Immediately upon receiving the news, the unit sent 6 officers and soldiers operating a motorboat to coordinates 21 degrees 02'35.08"N - 107 degrees 51'00.2"E, successfully rescuing 4 crew members on the ship with license plate TH 90111-TS owned by Mr. Do Xuan Binh, born in 1981, in Hai Thanh ward, Nghi Son town, Thanh Hoa province, along with 3 crew members.

The fishermen's fishing boat was towed safely to shore for repairs.

The initial cause was determined to be that during the process of moving, the ship hit a reef, causing water to flood into the compartment, causing the engine to stop and the control system to fail. After successfully rescuing the 4 crew members, Thanh Lan Border Guard Station towed the ship to a safe area and pumped water out of the engine compartment.
