Since the beginning of the week, Phu Tho province and the upstream areas have been experiencing prolonged heavy rains, causing the amount of water flowing into the Red River to increase rapidly. The river water level has risen abnormally, causing high flow rates, posing a danger to traffic on the pontoon bridge, which is an important connection between Lam Thao district and neighboring areas.

In response to the above situation, the bridge operator has proactively monitored the flood situation and decided to temporarily suspend the operation of the pontoon bridge to ensure the safety of people and vehicles. The bridge was cut off at 5:00 a.m. on May 25, 2025.
