People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung, Director of the Vietnam Puppetry Theatre, regularly closely monitors the exhibition and performance content at the event.

People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung added that although the preparation time for this year's Autumn Fair coincided with many performance tasks and overseas business trips, the staff and artists of the Theater still made every effort, promoting a spirit of solidarity and high creativity to bring truly impressive performances and displays.

What artists want most is for the audience, especially the young generation, to be able to feel and love more the colors of puppetry and traditional arts of the nation because they are the soul of Vietnamese culture.

The show is loved by children.

In the behind-the-scenes story, the artists of the Theater shared that in order to have the performances and exhibition booths as perfect as today, the unit had to balance and skillfully arrange many tasks at the same time. However, no matter where they are, what they do... everyone is aiming for the common goal of the Theater's image, for the love of the art of traditional puppetry.

Those who stayed behind took care of setting up and completing the exhibition space; those who went on tour still took the opportunity to contribute comments and exchange ideas from afar. Everyone joined together in a spirit of responsibility, solidarity and creativity like invisible strings that bound the whole group together in a deep love for the profession.

The theater combines traditional elements with new sound and lighting effects.

For the artists, each event is another opportunity for them to contribute, another chance for the small, simple puppet characters to continue telling the story of the hardworking, skillful and emotional Vietnamese people. It is this belief and pride that helps the artists always keep the passion for their profession, despite the busy work and tight schedule.

The main surprise was the large number of audiences that unexpectedly flocked to the exhibition space and stage of the Theater, including many children and international guests. Many people were surprised and delighted by the new look of Vietnamese puppetry: both intimate and sincere, yet creative, modern and full of charm.

The exhibition booth of the Vietnam Puppetry Theatre attracts a large audience.

If in the past, the public was familiar with the image of rustic folk puppet characters on water or on a rudimentary stage, now the Theater has boldly renewed its performance language, combining lighting techniques, sound effects, mechanical movements and modern projection technology, creating a multi-layered, emotional stage space.

Thanks to that, each performance truly brings a captivating visual and auditory experience, making viewers, whether children or adults, Vietnamese or international audiences, feel captivated from the very first minute.

What is valuable is that in this innovation, the quintessence of traditional puppetry art is still fully preserved, from the handmade puppet lines, skillful control movements, to expressive language rich in folklore.

The blend of tradition and modernity, Vietnamese identity and contemporary breath, has helped puppetry take on a new look, more youthful, more intimate but still profound and sophisticated. Through that, it can be seen that traditional art is being properly preserved and revived through new methods of expression.
