Support many emergency cases in floods

At around 8am on October 29, at km38 of National Highway 14B, the working group of the Traffic Police Team No. 3 discovered Mr. K Phu Am and his wife (residents of Ben Giang commune) struggling in the middle of the flooded area. The wife, Ms. A Rat Thi Bih, was 8 months pregnant, showing signs of water breaking and pre-eclampsia, and needed emergency medical care. Without hesitation, the working group immediately used a specialized vehicle to take the pregnant woman through the flood to Hoa Vang Hospital. Thanks to her quick thinking and determination, Ms. Bih was rescued in time.

At the same time, on all the divided roads, the Da Nang Traffic Police force was on duty all night. On the evening of October 28 and early morning of October 29, Da Nang City continued to experience heavy rain, many areas were deeply flooded, traffic was divided and isolated, the risk of floods and landslides increased. In this situation, the City Traffic Police Department activated the "emergency response plan", mobilizing all forces to be on duty all night on the traffic routes, ready to respond and regulate traffic.

Traffic police worked all night to respond to floods and the police of the communes brought the elderly and pregnant women to emergency care in time.

Working groups continuously divert traffic, block roads at flooded areas, temporarily close roads, guide vehicles to safe routes; maintain rescue working groups to help people.

Directly going to the site for inspection, Major General Nguyen Huu Hop, Director of Da Nang City Police, requested the entire force not to be subjective, and to consider the rescue of people and ensuring safety of life as the highest priority. He directed the police of districts and towns to coordinate with local authorities to check low-lying and landslide areas, urgently evacuate people from dangerous areas; arrange forces on duty 24/24 hours, and support drinking water and food for isolated people.

Fire Police and Rescue Force in Hue City support evacuating people from deep flooded areas

Hue City Police mobilized more than 14,500 officers and soldiers to help people overcome floods.

Due to the impact of heavy rains lasting from October 26 to 29, many localities in Hue City were deeply flooded and partially isolated. The local police force deployed many urgent measures to promptly help people cope with the floods, ensuring the safety of life and property.

According to Hue City Police, the entire force organized 100% of its personnel to be on standby to respond to floods. Thereby, mobilizing a total of about 6,350 officers, soldiers and 8,240 members of the grassroots security force to stay close to the area, ensure security and order, protect people's safety, help evacuate people and property..., limit possible damage.

According to preliminary statistics, by the afternoon of October 28, the Hue City Police force had proactively advised the government to implement a plan to evacuate 1,759 households/4,557 people in vulnerable areas, deeply flooded to safe places, and had plans to protect people's property... At the same time, the organization distributed hundreds of boxes of instant noodles, bottled water and necessities to people, not letting people go hungry and cold, especially in schools, medical facilities and households in low-lying areas as safe shelters.

In addition, the Fire Police and Rescue Force, along with the police of wards and communes, organized human resources and waterway vehicles to the flooded areas to search and assist in evacuating more than 1,200 elderly people, children, pregnant women and sick people to safety or to medical facilities for treatment and emergency care.

In addition, the forces also received information, organized search and rescue, and successfully supported 253 cases in deep flooded areas who called the police force for rescue.

Notably, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force of Hue City Police promptly approached and rescued 2 cases of capsized boats, swept away by water and trapped at the gate of Duc Buu village, Huong An ward; Thanh Thuy ward police promptly rescued 4 people whose boats capsized and helped bring them home safely; Thuy Xuan and Phu Xuan ward police received, verified, and organized forces to search and rescue 2 missing victims in the area.
