On October 28, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Thap province said that landslides continued to occur on the Tien River bank through Tan Long commune. The landslide occurred late on October 27 in Tan Quoi hamlet, from An Long ferry to the Post Office .
The landslide was 50m long and 30m deep inland, causing damage to four houses of residents, including Doan Thi Sau, Tran Thi Buoc, Tran Quang Buu and Tran Van Lum.
Local authorities have mobilized forces to support people in moving their assets to safety, and at the same time surveyed and proposed solutions.
Tan Long is a commune along the Tien River in Dong Thap province. In recent days, landslides have continuously occurred in the commune, affecting people's lives, production and housing.
Previously, on the night of October 13, a landslide occurred on the Tien River bank through Tan Long commune, about 30 meters long and about 20 meters deep inland, causing the collapse of a resident's kitchen and some crops. The landslide affected 11 households, the nearest household was about 5 meters from the landslide site.

According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in the communes and wards, there were more than 70 landslides with a length of more than 7km, estimated cost to repair more than 500 billion VND.
The Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee has declared an emergency situation of landslides on the Tien River in the area of the bank erosion prevention embankment in Thuong Phuoc commune and Nguyen Huong street in Cao Lanh ward.
