Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, commended and acknowledged the spirit of solidarity and efforts of cadres, party members, people and armed forces in Vinh Thuc commune.

He suggested that in the coming time, Vinh Thuc commune - the island commune at the forefront of the Fatherland, with a particularly important strategic position in terms of national defense and security and rich in marine economic potential, continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, the spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement of the island area at the forefront, focus on consolidating the political system after rearranging administrative units, perfecting the staff, improving governance capacity, ensuring unified and smooth leadership from commune to village; promote sustainable development of the marine economy, responsible exploitation of aquatic products, development of marine aquaculture, fishery logistics services; effectively exploit the potential of marine and island ecotourism; improve income and quality of life for the people.

Vinh Thuc commune was established on the basis of merging Vinh Thuc commune and Vinh Trung commune of Mong Cai city before, with an area of ^49km2 , population of 5,407 people, divided into 7 villages.

After a period of merging and implementing the 2-level local government model, the Commune Fatherland Front and the village front working committees have actively mobilized people to unite, be unanimous, and actively participate in economic development, transforming the structure of crops and livestock towards commodities, and encouraging legitimate enrichment.
