At the meeting, the two sides had in-depth discussions on the health sector situation, major orientations as well as the role and responsibility of propaganda and public opinion orientation in raising social awareness of health issues. Minister Dao Hong Lan emphasized that the health sector is facing intertwined opportunities and challenges. In that context, the timely support and orientation of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission is a solid foundation, contributing significantly to the health sector's successful implementation of the set goals.
One of the key tasks identified by the Ministry of Health is to manage people's health early, remotely, and from the grassroots level. This is a strategic step in the context of a rapidly aging population, an increasing burden of non-communicable diseases, and an increasingly clear need to ensure health equity. To achieve this, the health sector is promoting digital transformation, building a national digital health platform, gradually perfecting the national health database, and effectively integrating it with state management systems.
Along with digital transformation, the Ministry of Health also continues to focus on consulting on improving policies and regimes for health workers, especially in remote areas, preventive medicine areas and special fields. This is not only a social security policy but also a key factor in retaining and attracting qualified and dedicated health workers, contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment at the grassroots level.
Another focus mentioned is the development of high-quality medical human resources, from initial training to continuing education, to adapt to modern medical trends and meet the needs of patients. At the same time, the health sector also pays special attention to strengthening the population system, improving the quality of medical communication, considering this an important tool to connect people with official, scientific health information and policies.
Minister Dao Hong Lan emphasized that the role of communication and public opinion orientation is an inseparable part of the development of the health sector. Especially in sensitive health situations, the role of communication becomes even more essential in consolidating trust, enhancing social consensus and promptly refuting false information that causes public confusion.
The Minister expressed his hope that the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission will continue to promote its core role in ideological orientation, strengthening the great national unity bloc, accompanying the health sector, contributing to effectively implementing the country's socio-economic development goals.
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, highly appreciated the efforts of the health sector in recent times, and affirmed that the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission will always accompany and support the sector in propaganda and political and ideological education, creating high unity in society on major policies and guidelines of the health sector. He shared: “Healthcare workers are a special force - they possess both knowledge and humanitarian spirit. In difficult times like the COVID-19 pandemic, they are at the front line, silently sacrificing for the lives of the people. The Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission will always accompany, guide public opinion, spread the beautiful image of the health sector and fight against false information.”
In the coming time, with increasingly close and effective coordination, the two agencies expect to continue to promote more strongly the communication of health policies, strengthen ideological orientation, educate awareness, thereby spreading the spirit of solidarity, responsibility and creativity throughout the industry and the whole society.
