On the morning of October 23, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Huy - Director of Dong Nai Hydrometeorological Station - said that he had issued a bulletin warning of flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence due to heavy rain or water flow.
Accordingly, from 6:00 p.m. on October 22 to 5:00 a.m. on October 23, in Dong Nai, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain to very heavy rain.
Typically, Thanh An area recorded very heavy rain, rainfall up to 168mm, followed by localities: Long Binh 155mm, Tan Tien 130mm, Minh Lap 127mm, Bu Nho 107mm, Bu Dop 106mm, Phuoc Tan 85mm...
According to Dong Nai Hydrometeorological Station, soil moisture model shows that some areas in the area are nearly saturated or have reached near saturation (over 80%) or have reached saturation.
In the next 3-6 hours, some localities in Dong Nai and neighboring areas will continue to have rain with accumulated rainfall ranging from 10-40mm, in some places over 50mm.
Dong Nai Hydrometeorological Department warns that in the next 6 hours there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes, and land subsidence in many localities.
"Flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence can have adverse impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives and property, cause local traffic congestion, destroy civil and economic works, and cause damage to production and socio-economic activities," the bulletin warned.
