Not only helping students discover their talents, the activities also contribute to promoting and spreading Dong Nai's music, art and applied arts in the community.

Bringing art closer to students

Since the end of March 2025, Dong Nai College of Culture and Arts has actively organized art performances at schools in the province. These performances not only introduce art forms such as singing, dancing, solo playing of the zither, two-stringed fiddle, guitar, etc., but also help students better understand the majors at the school.

Principal of Dong Nai College of Culture and Arts, Master Phung Ngoc Long, said that in the 2025-2026 school year, the school will enroll 80 students in the following majors: traditional music , Western music, dance and vocal music. The school has organized enrollment rounds at primary and secondary schools in the province, focusing on areas with a large number of ethnic minorities living and studying.

“On each trip, the school has combined enrollment and performing arts, serving the needs of parents and students to learn about the majors taught at the school. Currently, the school has enrolled 77 students at the base (including 19 ethnic minority students), of which 29 are in traditional music, 20 in Western music, 16 in dance and 12 in vocal music,” said Mr. Long.

Similarly, Dong Nai College of Decorative Arts also implements practical experience activities, especially in the field of ceramics and sculpture. Students inside and outside the province have recently participated in the process of shaping and decorating ceramic products, thereby discovering and developing their own artistic talents.

Master Dinh Cong Viet Khoi, Head of the Ceramics - Sculpture Department, Dong Nai College of Decorative Arts, said that since the school implemented the Bien Hoa - Dong Nai Ceramic Heritage Road program, the number of schools coming to visit and experience is quite large. The school recruits students directly at the experience sessions instead of organizing recruitment at the facility like previous years. This year, the department continues to recruit students at the intermediate and college levels. For the college level, the ceramics major recruits 5 students and the sculpture major recruits 5 students.

In addition to ceramics and sculpture, Dong Nai College of Decorative Arts also enrolls students in many other majors such as graphic design, interior design, fashion design, and multimedia communications. Enrollment quotas are reasonably distributed between intermediate and college levels, meeting the diverse learning needs of students. For these majors, in addition to posting enrollment information on the website, the school also introduces them on fanpages and exhibitions...

Master PHUNG NGOC LONG, Principal of Dong Nai College of Culture and Arts, shared: “Currently, the school has completed the enrollment of art majors at the grassroots level. On July 23 and 24, the school organized enrollment at the school and announced the admission results for the new school year 2025-2026. In almost all recent years, the school's enrollment numbers have always met and exceeded the set targets.”

Opening up opportunities for young people passionate about art

Many students, after participating in experiential programs and admissions consulting programs of art training schools in Dong Nai, have boldly demonstrated their talents. This is a clear demonstration of the “suggestive” and “supportive” role that art career guidance programs bring. Instead of limiting their study options to popular professions, students now have more opportunities to see art as a serious and promising career path.

Nguyen Gia Han, a 9th grade student at Tan Buu Secondary School (Buu Long Ward, Bien Hoa City), shared: “At the end of April, I had the opportunity to experience making pottery at Dong Nai College of Decorative Arts and I really liked it. At first, I was confused, but after being guided by the teachers, I felt very happy and confident. I hope to study more about the school's pottery major next year.”

According to Master Dinh Cong Viet Khoi, each pottery spinning experience is an opportunity for students in the province to find themselves in art. Whether they choose to pursue it or simply love it, art is still an important part, contributing to nurturing the soul and comprehensive development.

With constant efforts, art training facilities in Dong Nai have increasingly affirmed their important role in discovering, nurturing and developing young talents. This is an important foundation contributing to building a new generation of artists, creative and rich in national cultural identity, ready to contribute to the development of the country's art.
