On the afternoon of August 30, the last working day before the September 2 holiday, the number of passenger vehicles going to Noi Bai airport began to increase.

Crowded scenes were seen at the airport's domestic terminal. However, the level of crowding was assessed to be lower than the same holiday period on September 2, 2023.

Passengers come to the airport mainly to start their travel or to return home during the holidays.

Ms. Do Thi Thu Hien led her family of 11 to travel to Lang Co ( Hue ) during the September 2nd holiday. Ms. Hien asked the company to let her leave early on Friday afternoon to be able to go to the airport to check in.
Expensive airfares and flight delays are still common concerns for passengers. Ms. Hien’s group had to pay about 5 million VND for a round-trip ticket from Hanoi to Hue. The family’s flight was also delayed from 4:30 p.m. to 5:20 p.m.

A female office worker in Hanoi took advantage of the holiday to visit her family in Ho Chi Minh City. She bought a lot of green rice cakes, a specialty of the capital, as gifts for her family.
Just like Ms. Hien, this guest had to ask the company to let him leave work early this afternoon to go to the airport.

According to the reporter, the number of visitors to Noi Bai during the National Day this year is not as high as last year. The security screening gates have not been opened to full capacity. Passengers also do not have to wait too long at the security screening stage.

During the 4-day National Day holiday, Noi Bai airport will apply level 1 enhanced aviation security control measures. This measure includes random visual checks on 15% of passengers.

Security personnel use their hands to check passengers' belongings. This is a random check of a certain number of passengers.
Last month, using this screening method, Tan Son Nhat airport security discovered a passenger hiding drugs in his underwear.

Passengers will also be randomly visually inspected for items inside their luggage.

On August 30, Noi Bai airport's domestic terminal served about 28,000 passengers checking in for flights to other airports.
It is expected that during the 4-day National Day holiday on September 2, the number of passengers passing through Noi Bai airport will increase by 11% compared to normal days. Specifically, about 338,000 passengers and more than 2,100 flights. Of which, the peak day is September 3 with more than 96,000 passengers (35,000 international passengers, more than 61,000 domestic passengers) and 569 flights.

The difference at Noi Bai during the September 2nd holiday this year is the sudden appearance of groups of Indian tourists. They arrived in Hanoi on international flights and continued to travel to tourist destinations on domestic flights.
