Huy Ngoc VN Organic Agricultural Cooperative was established in July 2022 with 7 members producing agriculture on a total area of 13 hectares, located in Dan Phuong 1 village. Of which, 3 hectares produce vegetables, tubers, and fruits of all kinds that have been certified organic according to TCVN 11041-2:2017 such as: cabbage, kohlrabi, lettuce, tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, Chinese cabbage... The cooperative's vegetable, tubers, and fruit processing factory after its establishment has an average scale of 1 - 2 tons/day, accounting for 15% - 20% packaged in plastic film, biodegradable plastic bags. Products are mainly consumed at wholesale markets and supermarket systems in Ho Chi Minh City; rural markets, clean and macrobiotic food stores, Vietnamese sales chains of provinces and cities such as Vung Tau, Dong Nai...
Director of Huy Ngoc VN Organic Agriculture Cooperative Nguyen Van Huy said: Vegetables, tubers, and fruits are harvested early in the morning, then gathered at the Cooperative for control through pre-established technical parameters. After being transported to production areas, each product is classified according to different processing and packaging specifications. Next, the corresponding labels and information about the production date and product name are affixed. Finally, each batch of products is divided into specific orders. Before being transferred to the vehicle for transport to consumers, the Cooperative staff checks the orders and the quality of agricultural products one more time...
“Lam Ha district is a locality with favorable natural conditions for developing high-quality vegetables, tubers and fruits. Through its activities up to now, the number of members of the cooperative has been quite stable. The cooperative has economic resources to respond to state support, basically proactively sourcing seeds to develop vegetable, tubers and fruits production, gradually applying scientific and technical achievements to improve product quality and reduce input costs. With the increasing demand for safe vegetables, tubers and fruits in the country, it has become a driving force for the cooperative to strengthen more effective solutions for the production and consumption chain of safe organic agricultural products in Lam Ha district…”, said Nguyen Van Huy, Director of Huy Ngoc VN Organic Agricultural Cooperative.
Accordingly, with the solution to produce organic vegetables, tubers and fruits, Huy Ngoc VN Organic Agricultural Cooperative will increase its scale from 4 households, 8 hectares in 2022 to 9 households, 15 hectares in 2023 and 14 households, 20 hectares in 2024. Corresponding to the output of organic vegetables, tubers and fruits consumed respectively 400 tons, 750 tons and 1,000 tons. The domestic market for vegetables, tubers and fruits of the Cooperative accounts for 60% of Ho Chi Minh City; 10% in the Southern provinces, the remaining 30% is the market of Hanoi and the Northern, Central and Central Highlands provinces. With the organic production solution, the Cooperative limits risks due to erratic weather and environmental factors, increasing the productivity and consumption price of vegetables, tubers and fruits by more than 25%, corresponding to a 30% increase in profit compared to conventional production solutions. In particular, in the entire chain of production, harvesting, preliminary processing, and packaging of organic vegetables, tubers, and fruits supplied to the market, the cooperative controls and ensures food safety, proactively protecting the health and interests of consumers.
Currently, in addition to expanding the domestic market, the cooperative is focusing on expanding the area and increasing the output of organic vegetables, tubers and fruits to exploit the export market. At the same time, it is expected to build an agricultural model of the cooperative in Dan Phuong 1 village, Tan Ha commune, Lam Ha district. “At the farm located on a convenient traffic route, visitors will visit the farming area, how farmers produce seeds and organic vegetables, tubers and fruits; the harvesting and preliminary processing and packaging process; the display area, enjoying organic products harvested on the spot…”, Director of Huy Ngoc VN Organic Agricultural Cooperative Nguyen Van Huy shared more.
