Specifically, Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear power plant is expected to employ about 1,920 workers, while Ninh Thuan 2 plant needs about 1,980 people.
More than 50% of these are engineers and bachelors, the rest have college degrees. Under the project, 670 personnel will be trained at university and postgraduate levels at foreign training institutions.
Priority recipients for training include university graduates in related fields, who have committed to serving the two Ninh Thuan nuclear power plants in specific phases.
In addition, first and second year students from domestic universities also have the opportunity to participate in international training if they are qualified and have a clear commitment.
The project also focuses on training and short-term internships in specialized skills on management and operation of nuclear power plants for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and experts currently managing in ministries, branches, and working in the field of nuclear power at training and research facilities (about 700 people).
At the same time, update knowledge for lecturers, researchers, and technicians currently teaching at universities, research institutes, and colleges that train in nuclear power majors (about 450 people).
In addition, the Project aims to train lecturers in nuclear power majors to supplement the teaching human resources for training institutions assigned to train and foster human resources for Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plants, about 120 people (80 masters, 40 doctors).
In the 2031-2035 period, the Project strives to train and supplement human resources to meet the actual needs of nuclear power plants.
To achieve the above objectives, the Project sets out tasks and implementation solutions such as: perfecting policy mechanisms; training human resources; investing in and strengthening facilities; fostering and building teams; updating, supplementing and perfecting training content and programs; and international cooperation.
Previously, at the Resolution of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly , the National Assembly agreed to continue implementing the investment policy for the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project after many years of suspension.
At the National Assembly session last February, many special mechanisms and policies were approved to speed up project implementation.
Accordingly, the Prime Minister is authorized to select the investor and apply the shortened bidding mechanism for turnkey contracts in the construction of the main plant with contractors specified in international treaties. The work of technology, safety and security appraisal is also allowed to be implemented according to a special shortened process to ensure the progress and quality of the project.
