The Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway line has been planned to operate the Nhon - Cau Giay elevated section in late August and early September 2023.
According to information from the Hanoi Department of Transport and the Hanoi Urban Traffic Control Center (HPTC), the two units are researching and planning to adjust the bus route network by rearranging the routes and stops near the train station to prepare for the operation of the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway (Nhon - Cau Giay elevated section) in the third quarter of 2023.
It is expected that in late August and early September 2023, the elevated section from Nhon to Cau Giay of the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway will be put into operation.
HPTC said that along the Cau Giay - Xuan Thuy - Ho Tung Mau - Cau Dien - Minh Khai routes, there are currently 31 bus routes in operation, and the stops can be adjusted and rearranged so that passengers can easily connect to the Nhon - Cau Giay elevated railway line that is about to be put into operation.
It is known that the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway line is designed with each train consisting of 4 carriages, each carriage can carry 230 passengers, each trip can carry 920 passengers. The peak hour frequency is 7.5 minutes/trip (on average, during peak hours, there are 8 trips/hour/direction to the station to pick up and drop off passengers).
After a period of operation, the Cat Linh - Ha Dong elevated railway has been widely used by people, contributing to changing the habits of many people when switching from using personal vehicles to public transport.
After completing the plan, the transfer capacity, passenger connection and bus clearance at the terminals and stations along the route, it is forecasted that about 15-20% of people along National Highway 32 from Cau Giay to Nhon will switch from personal vehicles to using the Nhon - Hanoi station urban railway.
The public passenger transport network along Highway 32 from Cau Giay to Nhon is also being completed in a synchronous manner.
