Actors of the Hoa Binh Province Ethnic Arts Troupe perform at Dong Nang hamlet, Dong Bac commune, Kim Boi district.
At the Dong Nang Village Cultural House, Dong Bac Commune, Kim Boi District, the atmosphere was filled with laughter, applause, and cheers, along with the music and melodies of songs and dances imbued with the cultural colors of the Muong, Dao, and Thai ethnic groups. The Ethnic Art Troupe brought a performance with the theme "The Muong Harmony Resounds Forever" as a spiritual gift to people who have little access to professional art.
Mr. Bui Van Binh, a resident of Dong Nang hamlet, emotionally shared: It has been a long time since we have been this happy. Every performance was great, everyone clapped their hands enthusiastically. Listening to the singer sing about the homeland and the Party, I felt warm inside. It was not just singing, but also bringing faith to the people.
This program is part of a series of activities of the Hoa Binh Province Ethnic Arts Troupe to implement Plan No. 31/KH-DNTCDT, dated February 14, 2025. Accordingly, the Troupe organizes performances to serve communes in regions II and III in Da Bac, Lac Son, Kim Boi, and Cao Phong districts - where people still face many difficulties in economic life and cultural access.
Comrade Trieu Thi Le Thuy, Deputy Head of the Provincial Ethnic Art Troupe, shared: For us, this is not only a performance plan, but also a mission. Each trip to remote areas is a time for art to be revitalized and inspired. People here love art, they welcome and share it with all their warmth. The program is elaborately constructed, highly artistic but still close to the local people.
In addition to performances such as "The New Road", "Spring Offering to the Party", "You are the belief in certain victory", the program also has performances imbued with the cultural identity of the Muong, Thai, and Mong ethnic groups such as: solo singing "Ve Muong em", dance "Boc tranh brocade", duet "Men tinh", especially the dance "Duyen dang ban Dao" with unique folk melodies.
The exchange with local mass art troupes created an intimate and close atmosphere between artists and people. The program also effectively integrated propaganda work on the Party and State's policies and guidelines through songs, narrations, and artistic content. Messages on building cultural life, new rural areas, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas were conveyed gently but deeply, helping to raise public awareness.
The program will take place throughout the second quarter of 2025 through many remote villages, remote areas of Da Bac, Lac Son, Kim Boi, Cao Phong districts. Each performance night is not only about bright lights, but also about touching stories that remain in the hearts of the people and artists. For the actors, each trip is a special journey. They do not mind the long distance, harsh weather during the rainy season, and lack of infrastructure, as long as they can perform and see the smiles of their fellow countrymen.
Ms. Mai Lan, an actress in the troupe, shared: Performing in remote areas without a modern stage, without professional sound and lighting, but in return is the affection of the people, from the elderly to the children. I find my job very meaningful.
According to Deputy Head of the Provincial Ethnic Arts Group Trieu Thi Le Thuy, the art program "Forever the Harmony of Muong" contributes to preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic minorities that are at risk of being lost. When culture is performed vividly and closely to the people, they themselves become the preservers and successors. Art itself, when touching the heart, becomes an invisible thread connecting the community, supporting the human spirit in difficult times. With the passion and dedication of those in the profession, the journey of bringing art to serve difficult areas will continue to spread, bringing joy, aspiration and faith to every village, every roof in the mountains and forests of Hoa Binh.
