Duy Khanh accepts criticism for his silly role in primetime drama

TPO - Duy Khanh said his new role in the movie “We Love Each Other Peacefully” might be criticized by the audience. “Nhan is a good-natured, gentle and sincere guy to the point of being stupid,” Duy Khanh shared.

Sharing with Tien Phong , Duy Khanh said he is waiting for the audience's reaction when taking on the role of Nhan in the movie Let's Love Each Other Peacefully.

Nhan is a good-natured, gentle and sincere guy to the point of being silly. Maybe to some viewers, Nhan is a lovable person, but it is not impossible that this character's personality makes viewers angry and uncomfortable.

“I am ready to accept criticism as well as praise from the audience for the character Nhan in Let's Love Each Other Peacefully . For me, this is a new color in the roles I have played. The character Nhan has a slow and naive pace,” Duy Khanh said.

According to Duy Khanh, audiences are the most impartial and objective people. “I think audiences are not strict, but they are more demanding because their tastes, understanding and need to watch movies are different now. Therefore, producers and actors are constantly trying to satisfy viewers,” Duy Khanh shared.

The actor shared that he and his colleagues often use the audience's comments and compliments as a measure to adjust themselves.

“The audience is the most objective person. I always try to accept everyone's comments. In any profession, to grow, you need criticism,” Duy Khanh emphasized.

In the movie Let's Love Each Other Peacefully , Duy Khanh had the opportunity to work with Doan Quoc Dam and Thanh Son. "I learned a lot from my seniors Doan Quoc Dam and Thanh Son. They have a lot of creativity, interesting acting and moves. We are quite comfortable working together and always support each other to complete the role," he said.

“Speaking specifically of Mr. Dam, I was lucky to have worked with him in the film Street in the Village . Watching his career as well as participating in the same project, I learned many valuable lessons. Mr. Dam is a professional, very loving and passionate about his job. He is also extremely serious and creative when he can take on many different types of roles. Mr. Dam is an inspirational role model for me to learn from,” Duy Khanh said.

Duy Khanh affirmed that he is not picky about roles, whether big or small, main or supporting. “My teacher - the late People's Artist Hoang Dung - once said: There are no small roles, only small artists. I always remember and absorb his teachings. To me, every role is important because it serves the film and has its own duties and missions. An artist first needs to fulfill his role. If he has better abilities, he should make that role better, and even better, so that the audience remembers him. Being remembered by the audience is a success,” Duy Khanh shared.

“I am not picky about roles. My career criteria is to be able to play as many roles as I can. Difficult or easy roles, deformed roles, any role is fine. It’s art, that’s how it has to be,” the actor emphasized.

There was a time when actor Luu Duy Khanh appeared in two TV series on VTV at the same time. The actor affirmed that he was not afraid of being bored because the problem was with himself, how to separate the characters so that the audience would not be confused.

When asked about his salary for acting in TV series, Duy Khanh said that the "income" he receives cannot be bought with any amount of money. "I usually don't ask for salary when I act. The income I receive from each film cannot be bought with any amount of money," Duy Khanh shared.

Duy Khanh expressed his desire to take on more roles to have the opportunity to learn and improve his skills. However, the actor affirmed that he would not accept vulgar and offensive roles for the purpose of attracting views online.
