EVN and Dong Bac Corporation cooperate to ensure coal source for the electricity industry

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the afternoon of November 10, in Hanoi, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and Dong Bac Corporation signed a cooperation agreement on coal supply for thermal power plants under EVN.

Attending the signing ceremony were Chairman of the Board of Members of EVN Dang Hoang An, General Director of EVN Nguyen Anh Tuan; on behalf of Dong Bac Corporation, there was Colonel Do Manh Kham - Commander of the 19th Army Corps, Chairman and General Director of the Corporation.

Coal supply cooperation agreement signing ceremony

The agreement was signed to establish a comprehensive, long-term and effective coordination mechanism in supplying coal to EVN's thermal power plants. Accordingly, Dong Bac Corporation commits to ensuring a stable and timely coal source, ensuring quality and price according to regulations.

The two sides agreed to establish a Steering Committee for coal supply for electricity production to directly direct and supervise coal import, blending, transportation, receipt and use activities.

EVN will direct power generation units to closely coordinate in providing technical information and coal usage needs; at the same time, Dong Bac Corporation will proactively prepare supply sources, transportation plans and necessary conditions to be ready to fulfill its commitments.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVN Dang Hoang An emphasized that the cooperation agreement between EVN and Dong Bac Corporation is an important step in the process of professionalizing the tasks of each party and contributing to ensuring national energy security. EVN leaders requested that both parties urgently complete the necessary procedures to implement the agreement, while maintaining an effective and unified coordination mechanism in operation, supervision and timely handling of arising issues.

Previously, on November 6, Vietnam Electricity Group and Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group also signed a long-term cooperation agreement on imported coal supply for thermal power plants under EVN.

The agreements signed between EVN, Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group, and Dong Bac Corporation are concrete steps to implement Directive No. 30/TTg dated October 6, 2025 of the Prime Minister on strengthening state management of coal production, trading and supply for electricity production in the new situation.
