Data from the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam shows that Ferrari has recently registered industrial design protection for a sports car model. Through the attached image, it can be identified that this is the new Ferrari F80 2025 - a hybrid supercar model that will be launched globally in October 2024. Specifically, the design image of Ferrari F80 appeared in the Industrial Property Gazette in May 2025. The application was filed in September 2024, one month before the official launch date. The design protection file in the Vietnamese market was published on May 26.
The representative of the design ownership in Vietnam is an intellectual property law firm based in Hanoi , the unit that represented Ferrari in registering protection for the Purosangue model before this SUV was officially sold in the Vietnamese market in mid-2023. Analysts believe that Ferrari’s registration of industrial design protection in Vietnam may just be a precautionary measure to prevent illegal copying of the design. It is known that all 799 Ferrari F80s were sold out before the car’s official launch. The Ferrari F80 is the successor to the LaFerrari hypercar. It is built on a carbon fiber chassis, combining the aerodynamic design language of modern racing cars with the signature lines of classic Ferrari models.
Despite its two-seat configuration, Ferrari calls the F80's cockpit layout "1+," reflecting its ultimate focus on the driver's driving experience. Most notable on the F80 is the high-performance hybrid powertrain, combining a 3.0L V6 gasoline engine with three electric motors, creating a total capacity of up to 1,184 horsepower. Acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.15 seconds, reaching 200 km/h in 5.75 seconds and a top speed limited to 350 km/h. This is also the most powerful Ferrari model ever built. The Ferrari F80 starts at around $3.9 million (equivalent to over 100 billion VND). With limited numbers and sky-high prices, the F80 belongs to the hypercar group reserved for super-rich and speed-loving customers around the world .
So far, it is unclear whether any Vietnamese customers have had time to order this car, as the customer list is strictly controlled by Ferrari and is only for the company's long-time loyal customers. Thailand is currently the first country in Asia chosen to launch the flagship hypercar Ferrari F80 at the Universo Ferrari event in November 2024. The car is considered a direct competitor to the McLaren W1.
