Speaking at the international press conference introducing Hue Festival 2024 and Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024 (June 7-12, 2024), taking place in Hanoi on the afternoon of May 9, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong said that this event not only has typical art programs, representing the imprints of many domestic and international cultures for tourists to participate in, but also has royal festivals, folk festivals... which have been painstakingly recreated, preserved or new festivals suitable for the trend, meeting the enjoyment needs of the public.

This is also the unique feature that has created the brand "Hue Festival" over the past 24 years.

Unique festival series throughout 2024

Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong affirmed that over 24 years of organization, Hue Festival has achieved outstanding achievements, gradually affirming its position, consolidating the Festival brand at national and international level, contributing to creating a driving force to stimulate tourism, preserve culture and develop the socio -economy of Thua Thien Hue province.

In an effort to become a typical national and international Festival city of Vietnam, Hue Festival 2024 continues to be a unique cultural activity, attractive for its traditional, impressive and humane nature, bringing people and tourists into both creative and beneficiary subjects.

Hue Festival contributes to promoting socio-economic development, making Thua Thien Hue worthy of being one of the major and unique centers of the country and Southeast Asia in terms of culture and tourism, contributing to the successful implementation of Resolution 54-NQ/TW of the Politburo on building and developing Thua Thien Hue province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, with the goal that by 2025, Thua Thien Hue will become a centrally-run city on the basis of preserving and promoting the value of the ancient capital's heritage and Hue's cultural identity, with cultural, heritage, ecological, landscape, environmentally friendly and intelligent characteristics.

Notably, from 2023, Hue Festival will be organized according to the four-season orientation. This year, the event will continue to exploit the festival series throughout the year, gradually building a new festival program system.

Accordingly, the Spring Festival - "Spring of the Ancient Capital" (taking place from January to March) highlights the royal Tet activities, traditional Tet cultural space and rich and unique folk festivals that have attracted a large number of visitors.

The Summer Festival - "Shining Imperial City" (taking place from April to June) with the highlight of Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024 contributes to introducing and promoting towards building Hue to truly become a typical Festival city of Vietnam.

The Autumn Festival - "Hue in Autumn" (taking place from July to September) focuses on the Mid-Autumn Festival Program with Hue Lantern Festival 2024, combining street Lion - Lion - Dragon performances, displays, installations, lantern processions, traditional Mid-Autumn Festival experiences, introducing the beauty of Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival culture.

Winter Festival - "Winter of Hue" (taking place from October to December) with the highlight being Hue Music Week 2024 and ending with the Countdown Program to say goodbye to Hue Festival 2024 - welcoming the new year 2025.

Highlights “Cultural heritage with integration and development”

The representative of the organizing committee said that on the basis of inheriting the achievements of previous festivals, the highlight of Hue Festival 2024 is the Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024 with the theme "Cultural heritage with integration and development" taking place from June 7-12, 2024.

The Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024 will bring new and unique experiences of culture, history and art. This is a place where attractive performances by typical domestic and international artists converge, introducing royal court music and dance and unique folk songs; high-quality traditional and contemporary art programs of 8 countries from different continents take place every night on stages at Kien Trung Palace, Thai Binh Lau, Thieu Phuong Garden (Hue Imperial City); community stages at Quoc Hoc stele, 3/2 park and throughout Thua Thien Hue province.

The Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024 has main activities and programs that will take place continuously for 6 days and nights with many attractive activities and events such as: The Opening Program of Hue Festival Week 2024 (at 8:00 p.m., June 7) held for the first time at Kien Trung Palace; The "Cultural Colors" street festival includes performances by domestic and international art troupes (up to now, 12 troupes and art groups from 7 countries have sent art troupes to attend).

The Music Program “Dialogue Trinh Cong Son - Love Found” honors the cultural heritage values of Hue through the images and works of the talented musician, a son of Hue - Trinh Cong Son; Light Festival; Beer Festival; Vegetarian Cuisine Festival and Lantern Festival; “Tam Giang Waves” Festival; The art program closing the Hue Festival Week 2024, taking place at 8:00 p.m. on June 12 at Kien Trung Palace, Hue Imperial City.

Besides the main programs and activities, there are also accompanying and responding activities, socialization programs and many other community cultural activities.

The Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2024 affirmed its determination to build, introduce and promote the image of the ancient capital of Hue as well as promote the brand and position of a typical Festival city of Vietnam of Thua Thien Hue province, contributing to the successful implementation of Resolution 54-NQ/TW of the Politburo, striving for Thua Thien Hue to soon become a centrally-run city, a Festival city, a unique cultural, educational, tourism and specialized medical center of Asia based on the fundamental values of traditional culture and the proactive and creative spirit of the people of the ancient capital./.
