"The parties have resolved their case," Judge Eric Davis said in a courtroom in Wilmington, Delaware, declaring there would be no further hearings in the $1.6 billion case.

A Dominion attorney said Fox News settled the case for $787.5 million. Fox News said it was pleased to have reached this “amicable” settlement.
"We acknowledge the court's findings that certain statements about Dominion were false. This settlement reflects Fox's ongoing commitment to the highest journalistic standards," Fox Corp said in a statement.
Dominion CEO John Poulos welcomed the settlement. “Fox’s admission that it lied about Dominion has caused tremendous harm to my company, our employees and our customers,” he said.
The defamation case involves claims published by Fox that Dominion voting machines used in the 2020 US presidential election were rigged in favour of Joe Biden, who defeated former President Donald Trump in that year's race.
In a February court filing, Dominion cited internal communications in which Fox Corp chairman Rupert Murdoch and other prominent figures within the company privately acknowledged that claims of voter fraud were false.
Dominion filed a lawsuit against Fox in 2021. The main issue for the jury in this case is whether Fox intentionally spread false information or recklessly disregarded the truth.
Fox News is the most-watched cable news network in the US, according to data firm Nielsen.
