Galaxy S25 faces many challenges from Chinese smartphones

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên26/12/2024

Despite being a giant in the tech industry, Samsung seems to be falling behind Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo – all of which are growing rapidly. Here are some reasons why the Galaxy S25 could face stiff competition from these rivals.

The Galaxy S25 series brings high expectations but still has some limitations

Battery life

One area where Samsung has been criticized is battery life. Chinese manufacturers have adopted advanced battery technology, such as high-density silicon carbon batteries, which allow for thinner phones with larger capacities. The latest Vivo X200 Pro, for example, packs a 6,000 mAh battery in a body that’s just 8.5 mm thick. In contrast, the Galaxy S25 is likely to stick with the same 5,000 mAh battery as the Galaxy S24, making it difficult to compete with high-end smartphones from China.

Charging speed

Samsung is also lagging behind in charging technology. According to rumors, the Galaxy S25 will retain 25W wired charging speeds for the base model and 45W for the Ultra version. While that’s not slow, it’s not comparable to the OnePlus 13’s 100W charging speed or Xiaomi’s recent 90W products. It’s clear that Samsung needs to improve charging speeds without compromising the safety of the device.

Camera technology innovation

Camera technology is an area where Samsung used to be a leader, but now Chinese rivals are releasing products with impressive camera specs, including 1-inch sensors and innovative features. While there are rumors of a camera upgrade on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, this may not be enough to compete in the increasingly fierce camera war.

Samsung needs to improve many issues if it doesn't want to let Chinese competitors surpass it too far.

Will the Galaxy S25 help Samsung regain the throne?

Despite the challenges, the Galaxy S25 series still has a lot to look forward to. The Galaxy S series has a loyal following and is known for its beautiful screens, stable software, and elegant designs.

However, to maintain its leadership in the Android phone market, Samsung still needs to address these emerging issues, including adopting faster charging technology without compromising safety; expanding and upgrading the camera to stay ahead of the trend; and offering many unique features to attract users to choose Galaxy instead of competitors.

The Galaxy S25 series is coming soon, and Samsung is likely to surprise with some major improvements. However, based on the current information, it seems like Samsung is struggling to catch up with its competitors. Time will tell if they can close the gap.
