The project implements the construction of a breakwater system to protect the protective forest belt in the area from Khanh Hoi estuary towards Vam Lung Ranh (Khanh Hoi commune, U Minh district).

The project aims to minimize the negative impacts of sea level rise and climate change impacts, and to protect coastal areas effectively, economically and sustainably in the project areas.

Specifically, the project will simultaneously implement 6 components in U Minh and Tran Van Thoi districts.

With component 1 "Sea dyke restoration", we will build breakwaters, prevent landslides, create sedimentation and protect sea dykes with a length of 7,000m of breakwaters and sedimentation using centrifugal piles.

With the component “forest restoration and development”, 54.8 hectares of forests of all kinds were planted. The remaining components include: “livelihood development”; “training, capacity building”; “monitoring and evaluation”; “project management”.
