Through the implementation of Project No. 03, dated November 26, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee on promoting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province and the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, Ca Mau City has focused on directing the drastic implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, considering this one of the key political tasks with profound humanistic significance.

Ca Mau City has completed the support of 137 houses, ensuring the right beneficiaries and on schedule, with a total budget of more than 7.9 billion VND, including a large social contribution. 100% of the houses were accepted to meet quality requirements, creating stable conditions for poor households and policy households, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction and building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

After completing the program on April 12, 2025, the City and Ward "For the Poor" Fund continued to review and support the construction and repair of 48 more solidarity houses for households in difficult circumstances in the area with an amount of more than 2.6 billion VND, and at the same time coordinated with the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to mobilize Ca Mau Lottery Company to support the construction of 3 solidarity houses, bringing the total number of houses supported for construction and repair for households with meritorious services, poor households, near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances in the city to 188 houses.

Speaking at the conference to summarize the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Ca Mau City on the afternoon of May 30, Mr. Tran Hong Quan, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the Ca Mau City Party Committee, emphasized: "In the past time, the city has always received timely direction from the Provincial Steering Committee, effective support from provincial departments, branches, sectors and organizations, especially the proactive participation of the grassroots political system in the process of implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

In the spirit of recognizing the advantages, difficulties, and lessons learned, it is recommended that the City People's Committee and departments continue to review and make plans to maintain and replicate good models, while learning from existing problems so that future social security programs can be implemented more effectively.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations continue to promote their role in monitoring, criticizing, and mobilizing the entire population to respond to national target programs in the coming period. Communes and wards must not be subjective, but must proactively monitor the housing situation of meritorious people, poor and near-poor households, in order to have appropriate support solutions, especially before the rainy and stormy season; at the same time, continue to review and propose support for the construction and repair of households with difficulties in housing and land. The City People's Committee continues to synthesize and promptly report on special cases that arise, and at the same time, have forms of rewards for outstanding collectives and individuals, creating motivation for poverty reduction and sustainable development.

In particular, after providing housing support, units need to proactively review and advise on solutions to support livelihoods, create jobs, and develop household economies , to ensure that people truly escape poverty, do not fall back into poverty, and aim for sustainable poverty reduction.

On this occasion, the City People's Committee commended, praised and honored collectives and individuals with many achievements and positive contributions in mobilizing, supporting and implementing the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the city.
