Nearly 700 students are admitted directly to grade 10 in Hanoi, half of them are disabled students.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just announced a list of 679 students eligible for direct admission to public grade 10 in 2025.

Of these, 408 are disabled students, 106 are students from ethnic boarding schools, and 1 is a student from a very small ethnic group. Only 164 students are admitted directly thanks to national awards in culture, arts, sports, and scientific and technical research.

By district, Ba Vi is the locality with the most direct admission students with 124 students, most of whom are students from ethnic boarding schools.

Districts with 30 or more students entering grade 10 directly include: Bac Tu Liem (40), Ba Dinh (30), Cau Giay (32), Hai Ba Trung (34), Hoang Mai (31).

Four districts have less than 10 students entering grade 10 directly: Dan Phuong (7), Me Linh (9), Phuc Tho (8), Son Tay (9).

Hanoi's 2025 public 10th grade exam will take place on June 6-9. Candidates will complete exam registration procedures on June 6, the general exam will be held on June 7-8, and the specialized exam will be held on June 9.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the city will have about 127,000 ninth graders, but only 103,456 students will register for the public tenth grade entrance exam. With a total target of 79,740, the admission rate this year will be about 77.07%. In 2024, this figure will be 72.3%.
