Connect and celebrate with people through the Great Solidarity Festival in residential areas

To celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Traditional Day (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2023), leaders of Tien Giang province attended the National Great Unity Day (referred to as the Festival) in residential areas in the province.

At the Festival, delegates and people reviewed the tradition of the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2023) and reported on the results of 1 year of implementing the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas".

In Tien Giang, after 20 years (2003 - 2023) of organizing the Festival in the province, every year 100% of residential areas organize the Festival, of which 91.54% of residential areas organize both the ceremony and the festival. The Festival has the participation of a large number of cadres, party members residing in the area, members of the Steering Committee of the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" at the commune level...

Through the Festival, 12,350 residential areas and 129,242 households were recognized and rewarded. The works celebrating the Festival over the past 20 years: There were 2,734 rural traffic works and bridges built by people's contributions; 6,134 newly built solidarity houses; 879 solidarity houses were repaired and 1,728 houses were sponsored and given construction funds during the Festival... Especially in the construction of new rural areas, people voluntarily donated 1.8 million m2 of land and more than 100,000 working days to build rural traffic works.

In 2023, on the occasion of the Festival, to help strengthen the close relationship between the Party, the government, the Fatherland Front and the people, and to share difficulties with poor and near-poor households, the Provincial Fund for the Poor Mobilization Committee will allocate funds from the Fund for the Poor to give 375 gifts to poor and near-poor households, each gift worth 400,000 VND.

Over the past time, cadres and people in residential areas have always promoted the spirit of solidarity; strictly followed the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; and the conventions and village regulations in residential areas; enthusiastically competed in labor production, poverty reduction; promoted the application of science and technology, transformed the structure of crops and livestock, created agricultural products with high economic value, and increasingly had effective models for family economic development, forming concentrated commodity production areas.

People in residential areas also pay attention to preserving and promoting traditional festivals, actively participating in self-management models in residential areas; life is increasingly improved, contributing to changing the face of the countryside in all aspects; the great solidarity bloc of people of all ethnic groups in the inter-residential area is increasingly consolidated and strengthened... The forms of organizing the Festival are rich and diverse in terms of content of activities, attracting a large number of people to participate; forms of inter-residential exchange within the commune and inter-commune have been and are being widely replicated.

Through the Festival, many residential areas have created forms of competition between hamlets, residential groups, and self-managed people's groups, implemented public works in the area, solved employment problems, established groups to help each other in production or poverty reduction, supported households in especially difficult circumstances, and cared for the elderly, the weak, and the lonely.

The festival also created conditions for promoting the people's direct mastery, helping Party committees and authorities at all levels listen to people's aspirations and reflections in life...

Attending and talking with officials and people in residential areas, provincial leaders expressed their joy at the results and achievements in all aspects of the locality; at the same time, they said that organizing the Festival in residential areas has become a beautiful tradition, bringing the work of the Front back to the community, towards each family and each person.

Over the years, the Festival has honored the nation's fine traditional values. On this occasion, the spirit of solidarity, attachment, mutual love, and mutual assistance in times of difficulty and adversity is further promoted, contributing to the successful implementation of the movements "Building a cultural family", "Building culture in residential areas", building typical families with "Exemplary grandparents, filial children"..., fighting against backward customs, superstitions, gradually eliminating social evils...

At the same time, the provincial leaders hope that: All people continue to unite, be of one mind, and work together to build increasingly developed residential areas; care, share, and help each other, especially those households that are still facing difficulties; take care of education so that children do not fall into social evils; work together to protect the environment; strictly implement regulations on civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals, and festivals; codes of conduct in public places, codes of conduct in families; effectively implement the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas".

Party committees and authorities at all levels regularly pay attention to directing the work of the Fatherland Front, proactively coordinate and create favorable conditions for the Fatherland Front at all levels to operate more effectively, in order to mobilize all resources, contributing to ensuring social security and sustainable development of Tien Giang province.
