Opening of the Storytelling Contest based on books in Dien Bien province in 2025

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Minh Phu - Member of Provincial Party Committee, Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Tran Ngoc Son - Deputy Head of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Provincial Party Committee; Tran Hai Ha - Deputy Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of Organizing Committee of the Contest; Tran Dang Ninh - Deputy Director of Department of Education and Training, Deputy Head of Organizing Committee of the Contest; Nguyen Hoang Hiep - Deputy Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In his opening speech, comrade Tran Hai Ha emphasized: The 2025 Dien Bien Province Storytelling Contest based on books is of great significance in concretizing the Government's Project on developing reading culture; propagating and promoting the role of books in educating about the tradition of patriotism, national pride, cultivating ideals, ethics and lifestyle for students. At the same time, educating gratitude to the Party and great Uncle Ho, the morality of "drinking water, remembering its source", "respecting teachers and valuing education"; and the values, noble moral qualities, historical traditions, cultural beauty, and people of Dien Bien so that students can nurture their aspirations to rise up and contribute to their land and homeland. From there, they will have a sense of responsibility towards themselves, their families and society; study and practice to become good children, good students, good citizens, worthy of being future owners of the country.

This year's contest has the participation of 30 teams with more than 1,000 members, representing Primary Schools, Middle Schools, High Schools, Vocational Education Centers - Continuing Education in the province (10 teams for each level). The teams build a program to participate in the contest with consistent content ensuring 03 main parts: Introducing the team; Telling stories according to books and Talent with a duration of no more than 25 minutes. Each team tells 01 story printed in the book praising the Party, Uncle Ho, the homeland of Dien Bien, the generals, the heroes who fought and sacrificed in the resistance war against France, against the US for national independence and freedom; examples of sacrifice, bravery, typical advances in the period of building and defending the fatherland; examples of good people, good deeds; examples of overcoming difficulties to excel in studying. Through the story, connect personal responsibility with specific actions and deeds to promote the traditional historical and cultural values of the nation in the work of building and protecting the Fatherland, building Dien Bien province to be more and more beautiful. The contests have harmoniously combined elements of art, dramatization, literature, poetry reading, and skits to illustrate the content of the story; using information technology, creating video clips to illustrate and increase the appeal of the story.

The Storytelling Contest based on books in Dien Bien province in 2025 is one of the practical and meaningful propaganda activities to welcome the success of the 15th Congress of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party. Thereby contributing to building and developing a reading culture, raising awareness of the importance of reading and building reading habits in students in particular and the community in general. At the same time, creating a healthy and useful playground, helping students have the opportunity to demonstrate their creative thinking ability, expression skills and love for books.
