Blood donation certificates after nearly 2 decades
At the Hoa Vang District Police (Da Nang), Major Pham Van Hieu, from the Social Order Administrative Management Police Team, was preparing a personal cabinet containing blood donation certificates that had been treasured for nearly two decades when he suddenly had the idea of combining the red flag with a yellow star with these special certificates.
To realize the idea, Major Hieu spent many hours thinking and arranging it properly to form an impressive national flag. The blood donation certificate with a red background and sparkling gold letters on one side is quite suitable to form the flag.
After about 30 minutes of fiddling, trying to put it together, take it apart, adjust the left corner, then rotate the right corner, Mr. Hieu completed the national flag from his 26 blood donation certificates.

Sharing the above story, Major Hieu said that, realizing the importance and noble gesture of the message "One drop of blood given - One life left", he actively and enthusiastically participated in the voluntary blood donation movement.
Since 2007, he has volunteered to donate his blood 26 times with the desire to share difficulties and help the unfortunate who need blood transfusions to sustain life.
Mr. Hieu also encouraged, promoted, and mobilized everyone in his family to participate in voluntary blood donation (Photo: Van Hieu).
He is not only a direct blood donor, but also actively encourages, propagates, and mobilizes everyone in the family to participate. Up to now, his family has donated blood a total of 51 times.
Recognizing his outstanding role in the voluntary blood donation movement in recent times, Major Pham Van Hieu has been repeatedly commended and rewarded by all levels and sectors inside and outside the police force.
"I think life is forever"
Also participating in the voluntary blood donation movement, Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang (24 years old, from Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province) said that she has been doing this since 2020. Up to now, Trang has donated blood more than 20 times.
"During the Covid-19 outbreak, I read online that there was a 75-year-old woman being treated at the General Hospital who was anemic after surgery. Since I did not have Covid-19, I drove to the hospital to donate blood to help her," Trang said.

Talking about the idea of arranging the national flag with blood donation certificates, Trang shared that a few days ago, she happened to watch TikTok and saw a trend of drawing the national flag on the roof of the house that many people were doing, so she intended to follow suit. However, due to busy office work, Trang could not implement it.
Trang then came up with the idea of using her blood donation certificate to form the national flag and then taking a photo to share on her personal page. After the images appeared on social networks, the girl received compliments from many people.
Trang shared that to carry out this idea, she used 21 blood donation certificates and arranged them in about an hour.
"Because I'm not very skillful, I had a lot of difficulty arranging the 5-pointed star in the middle. It took me more than an hour to complete the work. I was also quite surprised to receive so much attention and support," Trang said.

Talking about her 4-year journey of donating blood, Trang said she had many memorable experiences during her participation.
"There was a time on New Year's Eve when someone needed blood, so I drove from my hometown to the city to donate blood to save someone's life. After each time like that, I felt very happy and proud to be able to contribute a small part to help patients overcome difficulties," Trang confided.
The Gen Z girl also said that, in addition to donating blood, 3 years ago, she registered to donate organs.
"I think giving is forever, helping people makes me feel happy and fulfilled. I currently participate in volunteer clubs, organize porridge cooking sessions, and call for charity to help poor patients at local hospitals," Trang shared.
