According to information from many gardeners and agents on the afternoon of August 31, the domestic price of green coffee beans reached 122,400 - 122,800 VND/kg depending on the region, an increase of 100-300 VND compared to August 30, but a slight decrease compared to the peak of 124,200 VND/kg a few days earlier.
Specifically, in Dak Lak , coffee prices are currently recorded at 122,400 - 122,500 VND/kg; Gia Lai reached 122,600 VND/kg; Lam Dong remained at 122,600 - 122,800 VND/kg.
In the world , prices on the London and New York exchanges on August 31 did not fluctuate much compared to the previous session.
Specifically, the price of Robusta on the London floor for delivery in September 2025 is anchored at 5,001 USD/ton. And the delivery period in November 2025 remains at 4,815 USD/ton.
Meanwhile, on the New York floor, the price of Arabica for September 2025 delivery is at 396.85 cents/lb. And the December 2025 delivery period is anchored at 386.10 cents/lb.
According to experts, the increase in coffee prices in recent weeks is due to the impact of many factors such as supply and demand, US tax policy, and will likely remain at a good level.
"Since early August, the US has imposed a 50% tariff on coffee imported from Brazil, causing US roasters and importers to limit new contracts with this country and force them to find other alternative sources.
At the same time, Brazil's output in the 2025 crop year is lower than initially forecast, combined with the impact of prices, increasing concerns about supply," said a business representative.
Meanwhile, pepper prices today in key growing areas have slightly decreased by 500 to 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Thereby, the price level of this item is generally set at 152,000 VND/kg to 153,000 VND/kg (excluding zem).
In the Central Highlands region, pepper prices today in Dak Lak and Lam Dong decreased by VND 1,000/kg, currently at VND 152,500 - 53,000/kg; in Gia Lai, they decreased by VND 500/kg, currently at VND 152,000/kg.
In the Southeast region, pepper price today in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau) is currently at 152,000 VND/kg; Dong Nai decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, currently at 151,000 VND/kg.
In the world market, the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at 7,216 USD/ton; Muntok white pepper reached 10,028 USD/ton. The price of Brazilian ASTA black pepper increased sharply from yesterday at 6,700 USD/ton (up 1.04%).
The price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper is stable at 9,600 USD/ton; the price of ASTA white pepper is 12,800 USD/ton. The prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam are stable. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l is 6,240 USD/ton; 550 gr/l is 6,370 USD/ton; and white pepper is 9,150 USD/ton.
According to businesses, the price reduction is mostly temporary due to the impact of financial investment and inventory sources.
"Basically, the supply in Vietnam in particular and the world in general is still lacking compared to demand. Therefore, pepper prices may continue to increase in the coming months. However, in the short term, prices may fluctuate unpredictably due to the impact of many factors."
Many farmers said that although the pepper price has dropped sharply compared to the previous peak of over VND200,000/kg, it is still VND25,000-30,000/kg higher than the low point of mid-year. With the current price, many gardeners have made good profits.
