Limited supply, strong demand
According to experts, the global coffee supply, especially Robusta, is under pressure due to adverse weather in Brazil – the world’s largest exporter. Meanwhile, coffee consumption demand in emerging markets such as India and China continues to increase strongly, keeping coffee prices at a stable high level.
In Vietnam, data from the General Statistics Office shows that in the first 10 months of 2025, coffee exports reached 1.31 million tons, up 13.4% over the same period. The Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa) forecasts that if the weather is favorable, the 2025-2026 crop year could see an additional 10% increase in output compared to the previous year.
Coffee market situation in Brazil and Colombia
According to preliminary data from the Brazilian government, green coffee exports in October fell 16.53% to 3.88 million bags. The reason is due to prolonged wet weather, affecting the harvest progress. This situation is forecast to have an impact on the upcoming 2026-2027 crop.
Meanwhile, Colombia – the world’s largest producer of washed Arabica – recorded a 10% decline in October production to 1.2 million bags. However, overall production in the first 10 months of 2025 increased by 7% to 11.2 million bags, thanks to favorable weather and an effective replanting program. Exports for the first 10 months reached 10.8 million bags, up 10%, helping Colombia maintain its position as the world’s third-largest coffee supplier, behind Brazil and Vietnam.
Vietnamese coffee accelerates attack on Indian market
A notable highlight is that the Vietnamese coffee brand Three O'Clock has just opened 3 stores in India on November 8 and plans to open 3 new branches by December 2025. The event marks an important step forward for Vietnamese coffee in the international market.
Mr. Bui Trung Thuong, Vietnam Trade Counselor in India, affirmed that this is a new milestone affirming the position of Vietnamese coffee. Mr. Gaurav Marya, Chairman of FranGlobal - the exclusive franchise partner of Three O'Clock in India - said that with 65% of the population under 35 years old, young Indians are increasingly fond of coffee culture, opening up great opportunities for Vietnamese brands.
Positive outlook for Vietnam's coffee industry
The global coffee market rose more than 3% last week, thanks to reduced supply and strong demand. Vietnam continues to assert its role as the main supplier of Robusta, while domestic brands are breaking out to reach the world.
Despite being affected by weather and market fluctuations, the Vietnamese coffee industry has maintained a stable growth rate. With domestic coffee prices remaining above VND118,000/kg, and exports increasing sharply, the outlook for the last months of 2025 is forecast to continue to be positive.
