Domestic coffee price list updated on the morning of April 28, 2025 |
According to statistics, last week, coffee prices increased by VND1,000/kg compared to the previous week, reaching VND130,000 - 130,700/kg. In the world market, coffee prices also increased sharply due to the weakening of the USD and concerns about a decrease in supply.
Experts say that currently, the world and domestic coffee markets are moving under the influence of many intertwined macro and micro factors, creating an unpredictable picture of fluctuations.
First, global supply is playing a key role. Brazil, the leading Arabica producer, is entering the 2024/25 crop year with production expected to increase sharply thanks to favorable weather conditions. This has led to expectations of a surplus in the market, which will put significant downward pressure on prices.
Meanwhile, Vietnam – the world’s largest Robusta exporter – has seen a decline in output due to the prolonged impact of El Niño, especially in the Central Highlands provinces. However, coffee inventories among the people are still quite large, causing a significant selling pressure. In addition, global financial factors are also directly affecting the coffee market...
All these factors have caused the coffee market to enter a short-term adjustment period, while the medium-term outlook still depends largely on weather developments and purchasing power of major import markets.
In Vietnam, drought in the Central Highlands is having a major impact on the coffee crop. Farmers in Dak Nong are facing a severe shortage of irrigation water during the peak of the dry season.
Meanwhile, the EU’s EUDR anti-deforestation regulation is putting pressure on major coffee exporting countries such as Vietnam, Brazil, Colombia and Indonesia. Failure to meet these strict criteria could reduce coffee supplies to the EU, leading to a global shortage and higher coffee prices.
