Rubber price today May 18: Continue to decrease

At the end of the weekend trading session, in China, the price of June rubber futures on the Shanghai Stock Exchange decreased by 1% (150 yuan) to 14,845 yuan/ton.

Similarly, rubber futures for May delivery on the OSE in Japan fell 0.1% (0.2 yen/kg) to 319.9 yen/kg. In Thailand, rubber futures for June delivery fell 0.5% (0.37 baht) to 76.2 baht/kg.

Compared to the end of last week, rubber prices in Thailand, Japan and China changed by +3.9%, +4% and +2% respectively.

Domestically, businesses keep rubber prices stable.

According to the General Department of Rubber of Cambodia, in the first 4 months of this year, Cambodia produced 81,962 tons of rubber latex, down 5,171 tons (equivalent to a decrease of 5.9%) compared to the same period in 2024.

Cambodia exported 76,467 tons of rubber latex, down 8,961 tons (10.5%) year-on-year, earning US$148.18 million from rubber latex and US$1.69 million from rubber wood (6,929 m3).

However, data shows that in April alone, rubber latex output reached 17,882 tonnes - an increase of 13,127 tonnes (equivalent to 276%) compared to March 2025 and an increase of 1,642 tonnes (10.1%) compared to April 2024.

The average price of rubber latex in April 2025 reached 1,989 USD/ton, down 89 USD (4.71%) compared to March, but up 457 USD (29.84%) compared to April 2024 when the price was 1,532 USD/ton.

Domestic market

Domestically, businesses have kept rubber prices stable. Specifically, at MangYang Company, the purchase price of latex is recorded at around 397 - 401 VND/TSC (type 2 - type 1), while mixed latex is around 359 - 409 VND/DRC (type 2 - type 1).

Similarly, Phu Rieng Rubber Company quoted the purchase price of mixed latex at 400 VND/DRC, and liquid latex at 440 VND/TSC.

At Ba Ria Rubber Company, the purchase price of liquid latex is 462 VND/TSC degree/kg (applied to TSC degree from 25 to under 30); DRC coagulated latex (35 - 44%) is 13,600 VND/kg; raw latex ranges from 16,900 - 18,200 VND/kg.
