Vietnam Social Security (VSS) has continuously received reports of scammers impersonating VSS officers, performing actions such as: calling, texting, or sending links of unknown origin.
These subjects requested people and employers to update information with the reason: "From July 1, 2025, the Social Security agency will change the electronic transaction system. If they do not update, transactions will be interrupted and they will not receive pensions and health insurance cards."
This is a trick to take advantage of and defraud participants and beneficiaries of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance policies, in many different forms.

Vietnam Social Security affirms that this is an organized scam, taking advantage of people's concerns about policy changes. Vietnam Social Security does not have any policy on calling, texting to make friends via Zalo application, or sending links, QR codes to ask people to provide ID cards, personal information, or make changes to the electronic transaction system, update the VssID application, or integrate health insurance cards into ID cards.
To protect personal information and assets, Vietnam Social Security recommends that people be extremely vigilant: Absolutely do not access strange or unknown links; Do not provide OTP codes, personal passwords or any sensitive information to anyone via phone, text message or strange links; Research and carefully check all information before making any transactions online.
When there is a need to update or adjust personal information related to social insurance, people need to directly contact the local social insurance agency for accurate support, or do it through official and secure channels such as the National Public Service Portal, or the VssID application, the Vietnam Social Insurance switchboard 19009068.
Proactive prevention and awareness raising will be the strongest shield to protect people from these sophisticated scams.
