Galaxy Z Fold7 price drops nearly ten million VND after 4 months on shelves

(Dan Tri) - The Galaxy Z Fold7 foldable screen phone line was introduced by Samsung in the Vietnamese market in early July. After 4 months on the shelves, the selling price of this device has been adjusted down by nearly ten million VND.

Up to now, Galaxy Z Fold7 is being offered by some dealers at a price of 38 million VND for the 256GB version and 42 million VND for the 512GB version. The current selling price is 9 million VND lower than the listed price from the company.

"The price reduction does not entirely reflect low demand for the product, but is considered a stimulus move in the final period of the year. This reduction helps to significantly improve sales and at the same time expand the potential customer base," said Ms. Dang Linh Phuong, Director of Samsung products at Mobile World.

When the price of the product is reduced, customers can access the device more easily. However, this strategy also causes many mixed opinions when the price reduction will affect customers who buy the device early.

The device lost nearly ten million VND in value just a few months after being on the shelves. In case they want to resell the product on the secondary market, this group of customers will also suffer more losses.

Not stopping there, the deep discount strategy also affects brand positioning. The "depreciation" prejudice will change users' shopping behavior. Customers will have the mentality of waiting for the product to be discounted before buying, instead of owning the device early in the beginning.

Also according to dealers, sales of the Galaxy Z Fold7 product line have so far recorded significant growth compared to the previous Galaxy Z Fold6 version.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is currently Samsung's thinnest and lightest foldable smartphone. The device is 8.9mm thin when folded and 4.2mm when expanded, and weighs 215g.

The display is also significantly expanded with a 6.5-inch external display and an 8-inch internal display. The device is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip, providing 38% stronger performance, 26% faster graphics processing and 41% stronger AI tasks.
