The live hog market across the country today (November 26) recorded a clear price differentiation trend between the three regions. While prices in the Central Highlands and Central regions increased sharply and the South continued to increase slightly, the Northern market witnessed a downward adjustment trend in some localities.

Price details in the North

The Northern market today recorded a slight decrease, with purchasing prices fluctuating between 52,000 - 54,000 VND/kg. Specifically, Hanoi and Phu Tho both decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, down to 53,000 VND/kg. The highest price in the region of 54,000 VND/kg was maintained in Tuyen Quang, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh and Hung Yen. Meanwhile, Lai Chau and Dien Bien had the lowest price of 52,000 VND/kg.

The Central Highlands region has the strongest price increase

In contrast to the North, the Central Highlands region became a bright spot in the market with strong price increases, trading in the range of 48,000 - 52,000 VND/kg. Most notably, Dak Lak increased by 3,000 VND/kg, bringing the price to 52,000 VND/kg. Quang Tri, Hue and Da Nang provinces also increased by 2,000 VND/kg, reaching 48,000 VND/kg. Many other localities such as Quang Ngai, Gia Lai and Khanh Hoa also recorded an increase of 1,000 VND/kg.

Southern market continues to rise

In the South, the price of live pigs maintained a slight upward trend, ranging from 51,000 to 54,000 VND/kg. Dong Nai and Tay Ninh both increased by 1,000 VND/kg, setting the highest price in the region at 54,000 VND/kg. Other localities such as Dong Thap, Ca Mau, An Giang and Vinh Long also recorded an increase of 1,000 VND/kg, trading in the range of 51,000 - 52,000 VND/kg.
