On May 13, 2025, the price of live pigs nationwide remained stable, fluctuating from 67,000 to 74,000 VND/kg, with the lowest price in the North and the highest price in the South.
However, in this context, a notable incident occurred in Ha Tinh. According to Ha Tinh Newspaper, at around 8:00 a.m. on May 12, the Duc Tho District Interdisciplinary Inspection Team discovered Mr. Le Van Hung, residing in Hong Tan Village, Nam Thai Commune, Nam Dan District, Nghe An Province, selling 116 kg of pork of unknown origin in Residential Group 5, Duc Tho Town.
Upon inspection, the delegation discovered that this pork product did not have a quarantine stamp from the veterinary agency of the place of origin and did not have valid documents allowing transportation from another area to Duc Tho district, where African swine fever is currently occurring.
The authorities of Duc Tho district have drawn up a record of the violation and handed over the case to the People's Committee of Duc Tho town for handling according to regulations. This is a warning to consumers about choosing safe food, and at the same time emphasizes the importance of management in the field of slaughtering and trading livestock products.
Farmers and traders need to pay attention to this situation to ensure a safe and legal supply of meat products, contributing to maintaining the stability of the live pig market in the coming time.
