Today's live pig price is highest at 66,000 VND/kg.
According to observations on the morning of December 17th, live pig prices nationwide continued their slight upward trend, fluctuating between 59,000 and 66,000 VND/kg. The most notable development was in the Northern market, where pig prices reached a new peak since the beginning of the month.
The reason for this price increase is believed to be the gradually improving demand for pork as localities prepare for the year-end holidays and Lunar New Year, while the supply has not changed significantly.
Pork prices in Northern Vietnam lead the upward trend.
In the northern region, today's live pig prices recorded a common increase of 1,000 – 2,000 VND/kg, bringing the general price level to 63,000 – 66,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, some provinces such as Hung Yen, Cao Bang, and Hai Phong maintained stable prices compared to yesterday.

Pork prices in Central and Central Highlands regions increased slightly.
The market in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands experienced relatively stable prices, with live pig prices fluctuating between 62,000 and 65,000 VND/kg. A slight increase of 1,000 VND/kg was recorded in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, bringing prices in these two localities to the highest in the region at 65,000 VND/kg, on par with Da Nang and Quang Ngai.
