According to the survey, Long An is the only province that maintains the price of 76,000 VND/kg, the highest in the country. Next are Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, An Giang, Tien Giang, Ben Tre and Can Tho City with the price of live pigs reaching 75,000 VND/kg.

African swine fever is currently developing very complicatedly in Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh province. This situation not only causes serious damage to farmers but also has the potential to spread widely if there are no timely and effective control measures.
According to updated information, the disease has appeared in 156 households in 47 villages and hamlets in Nho Quan district. The total number of pigs infected or suspected of being infected that had to be destroyed was up to 644, equivalent to a weight of more than 29,000 kg. Notably, in recent days, the number and weight of pigs that had to be destroyed have increased significantly.
The main cause of the disease recurrence is mainly due to the limited sanitation and disinfection at farms and households. In addition, the transportation and trading of pigs without quarantine still occurs in some areas. Small-scale and scattered farming, lack of disease control have created favorable conditions for the virus to spread. In particular, the virus can survive for a long time in the environment, food and farming equipment, increasing the risk of spreading pathogens.
To cope with this situation, Nho Quan district has directed localities to quickly isolate and handle outbreaks. At the same time, the district has also strengthened inspection, monitoring and propaganda to raise people's awareness of disease prevention and control measures.
