Pig prices in the North continue to fall, Filipino farmers come to Vietnam to learn about farming experience

* Pig price in the Northern region

On the morning of December 28, the price of live pigs in the North continued to decrease slightly in Thai Nguyen, Hai Duong and Hung Yen, all reaching 68,000 VND/kg.

Currently, traders in this area are purchasing live pigs at around 67,000 - 69,000 VND/kg. Of which, Hanoi , Bac Giang and Thai Binh are the three localities that still maintain transactions at the threshold of 69,000 VND/kg, the highest in the country.

Experts predict that the price of live pigs tomorrow may continue to decrease in some localities in the North as the market is showing signs of cooling down.

* Pig price in the Central Highlands region

Pig prices in the Central Highlands region remained stable this morning, remaining in the range of 65,000 - 68,000 VND/kg.

Accordingly, Thanh Hoa, Dak Lak and Lam Dong have the highest live pig prices in the region, reaching 68,000 VND/kg. In contrast, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Khanh Hoa have the lowest live pig prices in the region, reaching 65,000 VND/kg.

* Pig price in the Southern region

The southern pig market continued to increase in many localities this morning. Pigs in this area are currently priced between 64,000 - 68,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, after increasing by 1,000 VND/kg, the price of live pigs in Dong Thap and Hau Giang reached 66,000 VND/kg; Soc Trang and Bac Lieu reached 65,000 VND/kg; Kien Giang, Ben Tre and Tien Giang increased to 64,000 VND/kg.

* President of the Philippine Agro-Industrial Association Rosendo So said that they have started injecting AVAC ASF LIVE vaccine of AVAC Vietnam Joint Stock Company and are actively monitoring.

In Vietnam, farmers are vaccinating sows, Mr. Rosendo came to learn from their experience to vaccinate this population.

Mr. Bayani Profugo, a livestock farm owner in the Philippines, was impressed with the vaccination results in Vietnam. He congratulated livestock farms in Vietnam for being able to sleep well, but his farm could not sleep well because the ASF situation was still very complicated.

He also congratulated AVAC and Vietnam on successfully researching, developing and circulating the African swine fever vaccine.

“Currently, because the vaccine has not been used, my farm has to apply very strict biosecurity measures. I hope that when I see the AVAC ASF LIVE vaccine being used effectively in Vietnam, I will have a basis to expand the scale of my farm,” Mr. Bayani Profugo shared.
