Ia Hiao commune has many low-lying areas, people mainly live in stilt houses and have the habit of storing rice under their houses. Facing the risk of heavy rain and flooding that would damage the rice, leaving people with no food to use after the storm, the commune authorities have mobilized people to move their belongings, reinforce their houses and mobilize forces to help move the rice to a safe place.
In the morning of the same day, after checking, it was found that many households in the flood-prone areas had not yet moved their rice. About 20 officers from the militia forces, in coordination with the commune police, went to each residential area to support single-parent households in moving rice to a safe location. The functional forces carried and carried each bag of rice and bundle of straw from under the stilt houses to a higher place, ensuring that they would not get wet or washed away. About 4 tons of rice from dozens of households were quickly transported to a safe place, helping people maintain their food supply after the storm.

Mr. Bui Huu Tam, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ia Hiao Commune, said that in order to focus on responding to storm No. 13, the Commune Administrative Service Center has temporarily stopped receiving and processing documents from 1 p.m. on November 6 until the weather stabilizes. During this time, all commune officials and civil servants are mobilized to support people in evacuating, strengthening houses and protecting property.
