1. Recently, 2 transformer stations supplying national grid power to more than 50 Bahnar ethnic households in Tpé village (Cho Long commune) and village 3 (Kong Yang commune, Kong Chro district) were completed and put into operation.

Mr. Dinh Pao, the village elder of Tpe, said: In previous years, the village had an electricity grid that reached all the houses. However, when young people got married and separated from their families, these new households were far from the village center, and to bring electricity to their homes, they needed very long wires. Therefore, the electricity was both weak and unsafe.

“Before the transformer station was built, the electricity here could only light a 20W light bulb, and could not be used for TVs, fans or pumps. Since the transformer station was installed, the power grid has been strong, making it convenient for people to live and produce, and their children can also study under the light of electricity,” said village elder Tpé.

It is known that these two national grid transformer stations are part of the investment plan to upgrade and renovate the grid in Kong Chro district in 2023. Accordingly, during the year, Kong Chro Power Company has energized the completed medium-low voltage grid project with the volume of newly built and renovated 2.7 km of low voltage lines; 3.39 km of medium voltage lines, built 2 new transformer stations with a total capacity of 150 kVA; increased the capacity of 2 transformers with a total capacity of 410 kVA. The total investment of the projects is more than 10 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Thanh - Deputy Director of Kong Chro Electricity - said: "Investing in and completing the rural power grid is a task that we always strive to carry out. Not only does it improve the reliability of power supply and reduce the risk of unsafe lines after customers' meters, but we also hope that through this, we will contribute to the locality to create conditions to help people feel secure in production, develop the economy, and stabilize their lives. The joy of the people is the motivation for us to continue to strive."

2. Also recently, the project of connecting Ia Mlah, Phu Can communes and Phu Tuc town with a length of 8.383 km and a total investment of 90 billion VND from the central budget, invested by the People's Committee of Krong Pa district, has been completed 10 months ahead of schedule. The project is designed with a level IV mountainous scale, concrete road surface structure, 7.5 m wide roadbed, 5.5 m wide road surface.

Mr. Ho Van Thao - Chairman of the People's Committee of Krong Pa district - informed: "The area where the road passes through most of the people's production land is thousands of hectares wide. Therefore, the road is very meaningful in helping to reduce production costs and facilitate people's travel. Therefore, when the road is completed, everyone is excited".

Not long before, the Chu Se-Chu Puh-Chu Prong inter-district road project with a length of 32.75 km and a total investment of 320 billion VND also reached the finish line, connecting with the Chu Pah-Ia Grai-Chu Prong-Duc Co inter-district road, creating a closed traffic route with a total length of more than 150 km.

Driver Le Van Tinh shared: “I often go to buy agricultural products in Ia Grai, Duc Co, Chu Prong, Chu Se, Chu Puh districts. In the past, if I wanted to travel, I had to take a detour, which was quite far. But now there are inter-district routes that have greatly reduced transportation costs. Traffic is convenient, farmers do not have to worry about being forced to lower prices.”

3. In the past, every dry season, people in Dat Bang commune (Krong Pa district) had to suffer from a lack of water for daily life. But now, 100% of households in the four villages of Ia Rnho, Ia Rpua, Ia Prong, and Ma Giai have access to clean water for daily life. In Ma Giai village, with a total investment of 4 billion VND from the capital source for the implementation of the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas, a clean water project serving the lives of 182 households with 715 people has been built.

Ms. La O HNgich expressed: “In the past, when there was no clean water system, I had to go to the middle of the stream to dig a hole to get water, and I had to buy drinking water. Now that we have water, we are very happy. The water bill is not much, only 10 thousand VND/m3, mainly used to pay for electricity to pump water and maintenance costs if there is damage.”

In addition to the State's capital, through the connection and mobilization of local authorities, many individuals and organizations have joined hands to bring clean water to the village for the people. Up to now, the people of Xom Pot village (Ia Pia commune, Chu Prong district) are still grateful to Hung Thinh Land Joint Stock Company and Hoa Huong Duong charity group ( Binh Duong province) for building a charity well with a sponsorship cost of 120 million VND (plus 70 million VND contributed by the villagers and the commune People's Committee). Thanks to that, more than 50 households in the village no longer lack water.

Ms. Siu Am said: “There is nothing happier than having clean water to use. Every month, we only spend about 50-100 thousand VND.”

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Kpa Do - Head of the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee - said: Every year, the poverty rate among ethnic minorities in the province decreases by over 4.21%. Currently, the number of communes with asphalted or concreted roads to the commune center accounts for 99.43%; the number of households using clean water for daily life accounts for 97.7%; the rate of households using national grid electricity and other suitable power sources accounts for 99.99% and 97.8% of villages and hamlets have community houses.
