Rice price today May 12: Rice continues to increase

Rice prices today, May 12, 2025, in the Mekong Delta region did not fluctuate much. The market volume was small, domestic rice of all kinds fluctuated little, fresh rice prices remained stable; only some raw rice export items continued to increase compared to the weekend.

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current price of OM 380 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 5,600 - 5,800 VND/kg; the price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 5,400 - 5,700 VND/kg; the price of OM 5451 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 6,200 - 6,400 VND/kg; the price of OM 18 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 6,800 - 7,000 VND/kg; the price of Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 6,900 - 7,000 VND/kg; the price of Nang Hoa 9 rice fluctuates at 6,650 - 6,750 VND/kg.

Recorded in many localities today, the source is scattered, transactions are slow. In An Giang , the early harvest of Summer-Autumn rice is slow to recover, traders buy sporadically, prices fluctuate little.

In Kien Giang, summer-autumn rice prices are relatively stable, new transactions are slow. In Dong Thap , rice supply is low, buying and selling transactions are few. In Long An, farmers offer stable summer-autumn rice prices, new purchases are slow, prices are stable.

Similar to rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, currently CL 555 raw rice increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating at 8,600 - 8,900 VND/kg; OM 380 raw rice fluctuated at 8,000 - 8,100 VND/kg; IR 504 raw rice fluctuated at 8,200 - 8,250 VND/kg; OM 18 raw rice fluctuated at 10,200 - 10,400 VND/kg; 5451 raw rice fluctuated at 9,600 - 9,750 VND/kg; OM 380 finished rice fluctuated at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice fluctuated at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

For by-products, the price of by-products fluctuates from 7,150 - 9,000 VND/kg. Currently, OM 5451 broken rice fluctuates at 7,350 - 7,450 VND/kg; bran price fluctuates at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg compared to the weekend.

Recorded in localities today, raw rice at the factory has increased in price; the supply of 50404, OM 380 is low, transactions are sporadic, prices fluctuate little. In An Giang, rice supply is sporadic, good rice is stored for stable prices, buying and selling transactions are regular. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the supply is sporadic, prices of all types of rice are stable.

Sa Dec market canal (Dong Thap), small quantity, market warehouse needs to buy goods gradually, stable price. At An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), small quantity, traders buy and sell slowly, price fluctuates little.

At retail markets, rice prices of all kinds remained unchanged compared to the weekend. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND28,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates at VND13,000 - 15,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at VND16,000 - 18,000/kg; common white rice fluctuates at VND16,000/kg; Soc rice often fluctuates at VND17,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at VND20,000 - 22,000/kg; Huong Lai rice 22,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice 21,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000/kg; Soc Thai rice 20,000/kg; Japanese rice 22,000/kg.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained stable compared to the end of the week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 398 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 368 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 323 USD/ton.
