Durian price news today 05/28/2025
In mid-June 2025, the European Union (EU) will send a team of experts to Vietnam for 10 days to assess the control of pesticide residues on agricultural exports, including durian, dragon fruit and chili. According to the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , the EU has sent a document proposing to conduct this inspection to ensure that exported products meet the food safety standards of the European market.
According to the plan, the EU inspection team will survey key localities such as Binh Thuan, Long An, Tien Giang and Ho Chi Minh City. Experts will directly visit growing areas, processing and packaging facilities to check compliance with food safety regulations as well as the traceability of agricultural products.
In addition to field activities, the EU delegation will work with two quality inspection units in Vietnam, Hoan Vu Science and Technology Joint Stock Company and SGS Vietnam Co., Ltd., to evaluate the inspection process. The delegation is expected to start work in Binh Thuan on June 11, before moving to the western provinces to monitor shipments of durian, dragon fruit and chili.
The Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection requires inspected establishments to prepare full documentation on production processes, ensuring food safety and traceability. Each unit needs to prepare a summary report on the production situation to serve the working process with the inspection team.
