Domestic pepper prices updated on the morning of May 16, 2025 |
Recorded on the morning of May 16, the domestic pepper market fluctuated up and down, but the amplitude was narrower compared to many previous sideways sessions.
According to experts, although pepper output this year is still limited, domestic purchasing prices have not met farmers' expectations. This has caused many pepper growers to carefully consider when to bring their products to market. However, compared to last year, pepper prices have recorded a significant increase.
According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), based on current supply and demand factors, some industry experts predict that pepper prices may increase slightly between mid-May and early June 2025, when export enterprises complete delivery contracts for the second quarter of 2025.

Some European and Middle Eastern markets are boosting imports to serve the holidays and tourist season. At the same time, world pepper prices are likely to recover slightly if supplies from the Brazilian market encounter adverse weather conditions.
In fact, global pepper supply is still in short supply, which is a positive signal that helps pepper prices recover in the medium and long term.
In the short term, domestic pepper prices are forecast to remain high, ranging from VND150,000 to VND152,000 per kilogram, mainly due to scarce supply and stable export demand. In this context, pepper prices may increase slightly, but farmers need to be cautious and proactive in their business strategies. In addition, pepper growers need to closely monitor weather developments and factors affecting productivity to have appropriate and effective production plans.
